New Sponsor - Bullets.com

I just got the email about my sep, billing and shipping address. When I called to see if they could make an exception and the reason for my two addresses (I'm .mil and I keep my residency). Linda apologized, but it's their internal policy that prohibited her from completing my order.

Too bad they can't make an exception, so I cancelled my order.

I will not deal with them again.

That is pretty common, its a fraud protection with many credit card systems.

It's the most basic of their protections, a big thing with CC fraud in the gun business it the use of a different billing & shipping.

I bet you'll find there are other vendors who do the same thing, especially is their payment system is tied to their online cart system.

like the people on the wic cards in louisiana that took advantage of wal mart, by getting carts and carts of groceries for pennies on the dollar.......you should have your priveliges taken away for a year. JUST BEING A LIL WHINEY BITCH.

What the hell? When did that happen?

If they are only going to ship to the billing address, then why is it even an option to have different shipping and billing addresses?

I'm sure that several things that are setup 'for your protection' are things that we all disagree with... Ex: It would be nice to buy a suppressor without having to cut a check to Uncle Sam.

I think it's another example of the nanny state, so I just choose to not do business there.

Because they are a site sponsor, I tried them. It didn't work out due to their policies, so I won't shop there. I will also actively tell others about this policy.

They shot themselves in the foot here.

They had an item in stock that I was looking for so I placed an order and, 4 business days later, the box was on my doorstep. Price was reasonable and shipping cost was low. I will definitely check their site whenever I'm looking to purchase something.

Actually, some of our operators misinterpreted the policy and applied it universally when the site was launched a few weeks ago. We do ship to addresses other than billing, but after that address is thoroughly checked out. Therefore those orders will take a little longer to process. Another very good way of dealing with this issue is to call your credit card company and link your bill to and ship to addresses together so the vendor gets a card no./address match. Oh, and we have had fraud on barrels and several other items where we have lost money. Makes us put our guard up.

For those that have given us business so far - "Thank You!". This business has gone from 0 to 60 in four seconds and we have become very busy. Getting product is a challenge in these times, but we have a lot in stock and a lot on order. Just got a big shipment of Norma 7 RSAUM brass as well as Norma TAC .308 ammo that is priced reasonably. Stuff is constantly coming in. Almost a million dollars of scopes in stock, and climbing. Free shipping on Nightforce and Vortex scopes. Kowa spotting scopes on an amazing deal for Christmas etc.

Norma .22 LR Ammo will be back in stock end of next week. Many million rounds on order. We are serious about this business.

I was told that it was against your policy to ship to any address other than the billing address. This was on the phone with a customer service rep.

What are acceptable methods of thouroughly checking out the address?

Again, I am not willing to change my billing address. I would like to keep my home state of residency, and having a banking account in that state with an in-state mailing address is key to that.

Yes, I know what you were told and thus the explanation in my post about what the operators were telling customers initially. Certainly, you can appreciate that we do not reveal on a public forum the way in which we would check out ship-to addresses for fraud, but you can try to place an order again and see what happens. Perhaps a ship-to address in a different state may have issues if we are unable to verify that address independantly.

You brought up that you were doing independent verification of mailing addresses as a method of granting an exception to your policy. Others have commented about wanting to use different shipping and billing addresses. Here's the real question then: Is there anything the customer can do to assist in your verification, or is the customer at the mercy of whatever verification process you use?

"Try again" is not good customer service, as far as I'm concerned.

If you look at my first post, there is a suggestion for the consumer that they can call their credit card company and link their "bill-to" and "ship-to" addresses. It does not change your original bill to address with the credit card company. I know this because I have had to do it on my personal cards.

If you have a different bill to and ship to address, then let the operator know and we will try to verify if we can ship to a different address. If we cannot you will be informed. It's not a matter of "try again". You are reading the intent of my post incorrectly. The problem occurred earlier on and was explained in my first post.

I think you might have something else going on with your cc processing. I placed an order yesterday with my cc, and used my billing address that I've always used for cc transactions, and is my actual billing address. I got an email this morning that my billing address didn't match. Never ever had that problem before. I called and they are looking into it but just a friendly heads up that you might have a technical issue beyond implementation of a policy.

I do appreciate the new options for product. I just got another shipment from the outfit that never used to charge shipping, and now charges way too much shipping. As others have posted, packaging was horrible and product was out of the package clanging around with each other in the packaging. I plan to check with your store first for now on.

OK, the plot thickens. When I got the call back she asked if my physical address was ......, which it is. BUT, my physical address is NOT a post office deliverable address, AND my cc billing address has never been the physical, it's always been the PO Box. Are you running everybody through the NSA before accepting payment? :) Just kidding of course but it can't be efficient for your people to be researching addresses.

Bullets.com Sale on 150gr Tactical 308

Got this in an email today from them.

Also placed an order today, was able to get 338NM brass plus powder that works with it. Big plus.

I ordered some Berger 243 match 90 gr and a Berger reloading manual. Good price and they had it in stock. Only complaint with the website is that you have to click on product and open to see it on single page to see if it is in stock or not. If you are browsing and click "add to cart" you don't know if item is in or out of stock. Would be nice if this was corrected.

I'll post a follow up once I receive. Thanks!

I just placed an order with them. The only place I have found with 7mm SAUM brass in stock, and the shipping price is very reasonable.

Hmm, I'm seeing some bullets I could use for 300 Blackout that I've been having an interesting time finding. Might have to give them a try.

I received my order today. Book was wrapped in paper and was placed in box with the bullets, all well padded. Quick shipping. Would definitely recommend this company.

On a side note, the Berger book is pretty good. Probably not the "best" book for a beginner, but I've learned quite a bit reading through it so far. Definitely worth a look as an additional resource. I now have Lyman, Hornady, Lee, and Berger reloading manuals plus I consult with the Nosler manual online as well as the individual powder manufacturers.

I ordered from bullets.com and the bill on my CC said Grizzly. Had a gift shipment coming in from grizzly and it caused some happy confusion!

I ordered and was able to ship to a different address than billing, same city tho. Got my bullets fast, my order was messed up and got the incorrect box of bullets. The box of bullets was open. Called CS and they wanted me to send pictures of the shipping box, the box of bullets ect. Still waiting for my return label. Hoping this gets resolved quickly because I'd like to do more business with them

That's about the average price I have seen from the discount dealers for 62. It is definatley getting cheaper. $350 per 1000 is just around the corner.

Now if only his powder prices were that reasonable we would have a hit!

So far Bullets.com has been pretty good to me. They'll continue to get my business.

Tried placing an order for some ammo and was told they don't ship to restricted states like California. I tried to explain to them that only certain cities have restrictions, not the whole state. Didn't matter. Seems their policy is they don't want to take the time to famililarize themselves with the laws of individual states. I understand it's their perogative to decide how to run their business (i.e. CYA), but in my opinon that's just lazy BS!

Didn't even try ordering components. I'll just take my business elsewhere.

Since I've ordered mine already. I will let you guys feast. Bullets.com has 105 and 140 Hybrids.

Had a order of Bergers arrive damaged, looked like UPS drug them behind the truck. Had no problem getting replacements, Bullets.com made them good. Waiting on some now, hope they arrive ok. My billing and shipping address are different, ordered over the phone may have made the difference.

Thought I'd give them a shot and ordered a box of Berger 185gr Juggernauts to try out in the SRS.

Their selection is impressive and their prices are fair/reasonable. One question though; why almost no Hornady rifle bullets??

I ordered and received a box of .338 Norma factory ammo from them last week to test fire in my new .338 Norma before working up a load. I found the price to be as cheap (if you can call .338 Norma ammo cheap!) as anywhere I could find, and there was no problem shipping to a different address than my billing address. I will definitely order from them again.

I have placed several orders with Bullets.com and a couple for gun related items even before they "separated" from Grizzly and I have had zero issues with any of the orders placed. I did them all online. Shipping was timely, orders correct and well packed.
I do with they would make a mistake and send one of those really nice lathes one time though. :)

sbmarma and philip, while I fully support and like to hear feedback/criticism, good or bad, would it make sense to you if a bystander (myself) whom has no interest in this topic, notices, that you have a combined 6 posts?
Having said that, one could be left trying to understand what it is you joined this site for? It has a bad outward appearance is all. (e.g. angry ex employee, competitor)
Personally, I would've held my comments to myself being so new. Again I support free speech and understand your interpreted rights to speak, BUT, again it draws my suspicions as to your true intent sir?

Bullets.com is my go to place for a number of things. Never had a problem after over a dozen orders and my order is on the porch the next day, you can't beat that.

Well I've ordered a number of times from them and have had many problems. Just placed an order today and got an email back about the card not matching the shipping address. Billing and shipping address are exactly the same, and it's the only address my cc company has. I've had some orders go through with no problem using the same card and shipping info, and some that turn into a pita. I've had PM conversations with Mr. Grizzly and it's helped with shipping issues to Alaska, but they have some serious issues that NOBODY else I ever order form online has. I have stuff shipped all the time to an address not matching my billing address and nobody lifts an eyebrow except these guys. I'm not discounting them for future orders because they have stuff in stock that I need, but as far as an honest review of how they are to do business with it's very frustrating to say the least!!

Bullets.com hate hawaii state their 9.00 flat rate shipping is same cost for medium flat rate box yet they use PARCEL shipping method (cheaper way)which ship trough a boat not air and it will take 1-2months.i even tried do phone order requested to use priority flat rate box for just couple box of bullets lady said will do..but they never! that small package got lost on the way.this happen normaly with parcel shipping.several of my shooting buddy had the same problem.me and my gun club decided not to ever shop there along with their main grizzly store...NOT till they start using peiority mail to hawaii..i hope grizzly reading this..this is not a one tyme experience, i ordered from them several times and all are 1-2months arrived with their PARCEL method shipping to hawaii

Original order was canx (February). Would not ship to alternate address. Placed an order Sunday, shipped Tuesday and were delivered to alternate address about an hour ago.

Two orders in two weeks, bullets and brass. Quick, easy, no issues. Had my orders on my door step in 3 days. I'll definitely order more from them.

Tim

Just received another order from bullets.com, no issues, and shipping price was very good for a 20 lb package. I'll continue to shop with them.

I'll be damned. 168gr Bergers available (cheaper than midway) and allowable backorder for the 180s. Order happily placed. :)

I hope they have real time inventory, nothing worse when ordering via the net, to have the seller say they have something that they do not. I have never been interested in reading what you may be able to get someday, but rather, what I can order today. Those businesses without real time inventory, are idiots, in todays world this type of program does not require you have a secret tunnel under Ft. Knox's gold vault. Best of luck to the new sponsors.
