Alternatives to Butler Creek Caps........

Really fed up with the Butler Creek's quality.....they break way too easily ! No more !!!
I am on my third (and last !) set for the same scope (Vortex PST 4-16x50).
Could you Guys suggest a valid alternative ?
I really like flip ups and I have the Lumina series on my Leupy and they are absolutely fantastic !
Is there a way to adapt them to "normal" (not threaded) scopes ?

Butler Creek used to make very quality caps. They have slipped over the last couple years leading to a lot of complaints.

Interested in hearing what other people are using and happy with as well.

The Aadland's look like great flip up caps. But just seems like there could be something in the middle between B. Creeks and the Aadland's in price.

I placed an order for the AADMOUNT for a NF F1 this morning. $100 compared to what I have in the rifle already is a drop in the bucket. I'll post a short review once they come in.

hey guys, the Aadland caps are absolutely perfect. For the amount of dough we lay down for our optics, you want the best protection for them, right? Jon answered our requests. They are durable as all hell, and appear like they will last a very, very long time.

As far as BC caps go, I'd rather wrap tinfoil around the caps then deal with their cheapness, never again.

I'm not sure you are aware of this but Butler Creek has a tactical line of caps with no hinge made of rubber that are a lot more durable than the plastic versions for about the same price...

I broke THREE sets of their caps since the summer....two on range queen guns, the third set on my hunting rifle. I am TAKING all three sets with me to SHOT Show and visiting their booth. Looking forward to what they may say. Their stuff is JUNK.

Evidently all the BC caps I have were made another time out of something else. Honestly, my newest ones are probably 8 or 10 years old. Hunting, range work or competing, I have 5 sets. None have broken on me. But I don't jump from the roof or drop my rifles out of helicopters either. Nothing implied, I'm just saying...

I know there are options that are "see through" plastic lenses. Why would I pay top dollar for a rifle, in some cases over $1,000 on a scope so I can see better, then use something that makes it harder to see through? Most clear scope caps distort the image you're looking at.

s&b directly outfitted my scope with tenebraex caps ... no more issues (after breaking 2 pairs of butler caps within a month)

I too, chose AADMOUNT as an alternative to Butler Creek.

Expensive compared to Butler Creek but the finish, fit, function and life time warranty sold me.

I have the Jon A. scope flip open cover mounts.
They are spendy, but come with a lifetime warranty. And Jon is a shooter himself, so he I am sure broke a number of butler creeks.

I have an old Leupold Mark 4 10x scope that has a set of butler creek covers on it that I bought when I got in to this type of shooting 11 years ago. I broke 5 ocular butler creeks last year in competitions on my S&B and Bushnell HDMR. They changed the formula some time in the last few years. They know there is an issue from talking to the head of Butler Creek last spring, they just haven't resolved it.
