Even though I've seen and handled many a Tac Ops gun and have been shooting them for a very long time I never get tired of playing with them. Congrats and here's to your good health and getting to the range soon.

Re: Tango 51

You guys are killin' me! Those pics are the biggest tease ever. I've had a T-51/TO-30 suppressor on order since February and can't wait to get it in my hands.

Re: Tango 51

Flying Dog here is one more pic to make you drool.

Hopefully I can get to the range at the end of the month to see what it will do in my hands.

Re: Tango 51

Took it out to the range yesterday, forgot my bags, so I shot it off the bipod. Rifle did really well, me on the other hand, couldn't shoot for anything. Had one 1/4 moa while others were minute of golf ball at 300. I shot about 50 before mirage started setting in from the can. These were all handloads for another rifle, so I wasn't expecting very much, just needed to get my broken hip out and start shooting again.

Lucky SOB - at least you live in a "free" state and can own your own suppressors. Wait til' you get your Tango 51 and Tac Ops .30 suppressor and shoot them. BTW, did you get a SS or hybrid (SS/titanium) suppressor?

Re: Tango 51

Highlands what length barrel you running? Any chance you've run it through a chrony? I'm looking for some data on 175's?

Please check out this thread to see my crono results with 168 and 175 Federal Gold Metal Match:

I also took my rifle out today to compare some velocity differences between Win and Lapua cases and the same load. While I still have to write this up for my rifle here, are the results. For me, the 190 SMK's are shooting fantastic from my 21" TacOps.

Re: Tango 51

Thanks Iggy! That should help. I wonder how much difference I would see with a 19 1/4" barrel vs your 21"? Have you done any work with the 155g sceaner?

Re: Tango 51

I don't know how much different it would be, maybe 25-50FPS slower. I think 21-22 is the best length for what I want out of the gun.

I haven't done any work the 155's. I'm a little biased towards the heavier bullets, and I don't know if they will work well in my rifle considering the twist, but they are longer so that may help.

Re: Tango 51

I am running a 20" but have only ran a few handloaded 165's w 44.8 varget and some 168 fgmm through the rifle.
I did not chrony anything as it was a rush trip to the range so someone visiting from across the country could shoot a rifle with a can. (not legal in their state)

I checked out your post today, thanks for the pics and info. I recently order a Tac Ops from Mike and I am gathering as much info as possible from people who actually own one (or more). Talking to Mike is best, as it cuts all B.S and incorrect info but knowledgeable owners are not to be discarded.
I am ready for the long wait but it's all worth it.
Good shooting.

My trip to the range today, played around for a while with the Anshutz to get the jitters outs then got serious with the Tango several groups in the fours (.11, .13 .18) then on the last three rounds at 100yds with hand loads a .367 (.059)

That is just one helluva group. Excellent shooting, firehawk2010.

LeadSlinger Only Mike knows the current cost and wait time, you'll have to give him a call.
David Thanx the rifle makes it easy.

I'd give a call except for two things:

I'm hearing impaired (to the point where I've learned sign language and wear hearing aids)

I'm nowhere near the point of being able to purchase one of these fine rifles. Therefore I do not want to waste Mike's time.

But thanks for the response.

You can send him a PM on here to find out, he logs on time to time. His name is BlackOps, at least it was before the switch, not sure if it's the same now.

FYI, I have always used Black Ops for appx. 20 years and never changed it you are thinking about Mike Bush from UGSW then Black Ops Precision then Black Ops Tech  He’s a good guy and builds a great rifle we just happened to have a similar name here ;)

.059 Mark nice shooting maybe you could come out to Beverly Hills and help me Certify a few Tac Ops Platforms so I may get them out the door sooner ;)

Actually, when the name change occurred, I went from UGSW to BlackOps Technologies, LLC. There are two companies within BlackOps Technologies, LLC named BlackOps Precision and WildCall Custom Rifles. There has only been one name change.

BlackOps Precision is the side of the house that handles Duty/Precision Rifles and 1911's. WildCall Custom Rifles handles the high end hunting platforms.

Can I ask how long it took from the time you ordered it? I've had a Tango on order for a while and I'm hoping it won't be much longer

Thanks Mike, That's a great compliment. Next time I'm out in your neck of the woods I'll give you a call. Unfortunately that was last time I went shooting so I'm a little rusty.
