Rifle Scopes Minox warranty term

I had this same concern as I just picked one up. The guy before me had it registered and even told me to save his contact info in case of any warranty work. I truly believe if the product is registered and you have any issues then they will take care of you. I have heard some very positive things about Minox as a company. Plus the ZP5 I just got is amazing. I don't see any issues with it in the future as it is very, very high quality.

I don't recall who it was that sent in an older, discontinued scope (a ZA5 perhaps?), but they were not the original owner. Minox not only accepted the old scope, but sent a new scope from the line that replaced the old one. I don't think Minox will fail to honor their warranty, despite the requirements they state on their packaging or material.

Can verify that I saw this post/thread as described by CZ as well.......

If MINOX indeed covers it regardless, they should promote that fact instead of trying to be defensive - as it will give them the edge of market. Make an example, I will not buy unless the warranty is transferable, and I will buy if it is, right away. I've put the money aside and wait for the change, or I'll happily live with my current set of scopes, ever after.

Thanks CST and others for the great info, you have really made me feel better.

I understand your reluctance. At any given time, they can begin to refuse warranty a scope because you're not the original owner or you didn't register the scope within an allotted time frame, but I seriously doubt that will happen. That would ruin a lot of goodwill they've started generating among shooters.

When i did register mine, there was a remarks section that I also suggested to make the warranty transferable if they want to compete in the US market long term. Could make them or break them. I feel pretty good that they will at very minimum match competitors in this regard. Maybe not to Vortex, but at least to Schmidt and Bender.

Don't know why this is such an issue, there are other scope manufactures out there that have less of a warranty than Minox, I have a ZP5 and it is amazing, why would I want to get rid of it, I own every scope I have ever bought and will until I'm dead then pass them on to my kids, as far as the warranty registration it takes all of five minutes to fill out and send in. Guess it is just my way of thinking but if I'm spending good money on a scope I plan on keeping it. Minox makes a great product and so do a lot of other folks, find what you like with the terms you can live with and buy it.

It's not an issue for existing owners - it's the guys who are picking up Zp5's second hand that are after some clarity (no pun intended ;)

The warranty on these has changed. The guys at CS Tactical have been working with Minox to make their warranty better and more inline with other scope companies. I would reach out to them if you want a Minox. Perhaps they will see this thread and let you know what the details are.

Delfuego is right,
I spoke extensively with CSTact today about these. They told me Minox is doing lifetime for original owner and extended (10 or 15 years was what i was told but he could not remember exactly what they went to,) but it seems like a pretty good warranty for second hand owners, and could be expanded even more in the future.
A little more info is Minox currently has a mil contract and is focusing on that (hence the MR4 shortage) but on the flipside CS said they feel with Minox production for both mil and civilian in high demand shows the company should be around for a long time.

That's good news re the warranty. Also explains the delay with the MR4. It sounds like they're cranking out the MR5 and MR2 for the mil contact before turning attention back to the MR4. Minox told me directly that there was going to be a significant delay with the MR4, and a vendor today said not to expect any until September/October.

My new MR4 just showed up today, whaaaaaaaaaaaat?
