Dammit, I'm going back and watching it at least 5 more times. It originally looked like a downtown establishment we have here, but I'm doubting it, not raucous enough.

Yeah. I watched them build and launch the very first LCS prototype years ago.
It's crazy to see how huge that operation is now. In fact between them, Ingalls, and a few smaller yards they have completely exhausted the pool of skilled labor so now they're training hands from scratch, which is great because I just applied to a free welding course being offered as a recruitment tool.
Yeah, I grew up in that area. Great to see that industry thriving, and even better to see Airbus set up shop down there, too.
Airbus is enormous, and is building another Final Assembly Line here. They too have run out of labor pool, so they're training people from the ground up, as is Ingalls, Walmart Distribution, and Amazon Distribution.

It allows the vessel high speed and shallow draft. LCSs can make 40 knots with everything spun up. It probably reduces radar return, as well.

40ish knots is the published top speed. There are two variants built by two companies on two totally different designs:
The Freedom class is built by Lockheed on a fairly conventional hull design and the Independence class is built by Austal USA on that trimaran hull. The trimaran is freaky fast with a ridiculously shallow draft for a ship of its size.
