UPDATE: A teacher fired at least one shot through a classroom window at Dalton High School Wednesday. Police say a witness heard gunfire and reportedly called police.

The teacher has been identified by police as Jesse Randal Davidson, a socials studies teacher who also serves as play-by play announcer for the Dalton High School football team.

At least one shot was fired from his handgun, according to Dalton police. No students were in the classroom, according to police. The weapon has been recovered.

The teacher at the school was taken into custody, with no injury to him or police after a short standoff with the classroom door locked. The teacher later surrendered to police.

Students were evacuated from the school. One student was injured in the evacuation and hurt their ankle.

Goes back to personal responsibility.

Was this guy legally allowed to CCW? Is it a crime in his state to carry while at school?

Sad thing is, whatever punishment he would have gotten in the past for this will right now be 100 times worse. I'm still betting on new CCW and wanted to play with his new precious.

Reminds me of a time a few years back I was at a Texas Roadhouse and a bit across to the side of me was the A#1 posterchild for "do and wear everything possible that screams I am carrying a CCW right now". I made a comment about him to my wife and friend even about what gun I'm guessing hes carrying and how he looks so out of place and so obvious; we were trying to decide if it was on purpose or if he really was just that fucking oblivious.

Anyways, Fattie McGunKabob gets up and waddles to the rest room which is on the other side of the bar we are sitting in a bar booth on. 2 minutes pass and there's a muffled, yet loud bang in the direction of the bathroom (nothing else is over there). The place gets quiet, people don't know WTF to do and I just start laughing my ass off because I knew exactly what just happened (later I realized he could have just killed himself, but na).

Someone else who had a CCW (that I would have never guessed or saw, unlike Fattie) went into the bathroom with some people from the Texas Roadhouse while I am assuming others called the police only to open the door (with a gun drawn) and scared the fuck out of Fattie who then shreaked with 'it just went off!!1!!!!'

Now others joined me in the laughing; my wife was now just really confused.

In reality, Fattie ND'd into the fucking floor while he was trying to pinch one off and got bored.

Yeah I don't know either. I'm just going from he was in a room, alone, and shot a window.

Those things usually don't point to anything other than someone was a dumbass and broke all of the basic gun safety rules and was in school ontop of it.

What a dumb Fucking Cunt.... Why would you even keep your CCW in Condition 1 on School Grounds, if a active shooter situations started I'm sure the whole two seconds it takes to chamber a round will not cause any further loss of life. Now the Libs are going to have free for all on Arming teachers.... This is why there should only be one type of CCW class and it should be the advanced course.

Well now it is looking more and more certain that this teacher was another upset liberal snowflake choosing violence because everybody didn't immediately bow down to his greatly superior intellect and ideas.

Perhaps tell democrats, liberals and socialists that they can't have guns and see how that goes first?

No matter the cause, if x people carry then there will be y ND's. This is something we are going to have to deal with if we are going to arm teachers.

Not only will there be "y" ND's but z times per year one will forget their gun on the toilet paper holder, where it will be recovered by a student.

Don't tell me about airline pilots, airline pilots spend their entire professional lives running a checklist. Airline pilots have fewer distractions. Teachers are not going to preform like airline pilots.

Looks like another example of govt failure and being inept.

I would like govt to have limited ability to act on just the basis of being "weird" but that should be balanced with other factors such as "weird" and teaches a class room full of kids as opposed to "weird" and works as a CPA in his basement.

One should be considered for some questioning the other not so much.

We prefer to be called pro freedom people. as for your list, in our country there is no sch think as an illegal gun, the 2nd amendment is pretty clear on that. There are unconstitutional laws that are not really laws at all they try to restrict guns but it does not make them illegal guns, it just shows how a government illegally makes law to try tp take freedom away. Now you can go fuck off .

Dalton police spokesperson Bruce Frazier says 53-year-old Jesse Randal Davidson is charged with
aggravated assault,
carrying a weapon on school grounds,
terroristic threats,
reckless conduct,
possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime,

and disrupting a public school.

Frazier says Davidson apparently brought the gun to campus in a computer case Wednesday morning.
Frazier says the weapon was a snub-nosed .38 revolver.
Frazier says Davidson did not give investigators a motive at this time.
