A pair of students in New Jersey were reportedly suspended, one for an entire school week, after officials saw they went to the gun range with family and posted a photo of the outing on social media. From NJ.com:

A New Jersey school district that allegedly suspended two high school students this week over a gun photo taken during a family visit to a private shooting range is facing community backlash and the threat of a lawsuit over district policies.

The photo of four rifles, ammunition clips and a gun duffel bag was shared by one of the students on the social media app Snapchat with the caption "fun day at the range," according to Lacey Township resident Amanda Buron, a family friend of one of the students.

A screen capture of the image made the rounds among other students and later brought to the attention of Lacey Township High School officials. Buron said the students received a five-day in-school suspension for violating the school's policy on weapons possession.

... how is it a violation of “ school policy”....when the actions didn’t take place on school grounds?

The school cannot dictate how you live your life....or what you do in your personal life.

In today's world public opinion and social media set the precedents. In that case, yes, the school system as an extension of our big brother can indeed rule our lives. It's for the good of the children. If it only saves one child........

It is New Joikey but we can hope for the best...or in the schools case, the worst...

That's nothing "Ohio student suspended for staying in class during walkouts" the Libtards in Ohio suspended a kid for staying in class instead of joining the walk out!

    The Story
In fairness he did have the option of study hall. I can see where the school might want him not left unattended. Still un necessary for a suspension.

Was the school not paid to run a class? If the school can't keep a teacher in a classroom they should all be fired.

We need to make no mistake, this was funded by the far left, popularized by the media and carried out by our teachers with the support of many parents.

This had so much less student organization and free will than it would appear. My son and some of his friends, did not walk out. He’s reasoning was “I DON’T support kids being used as puppets”.

Lol where you been. A few years ago. Well ten plus years ago they would punish you if you had a beer in your hand on social media. They can and will punish people for out of school activities.
