Since everyone else is making a post about their 6.5 CM ARs, I figured I'd join the fun with my recent build.
I originally wanted to build a budget lightweight right, and it turned out to be the complete opposite.
MEGA MATEN MML Receiver set
Bartlien M24 contour 6.5 Creedmoor. XL gas. Turned by Josh at PVA with a .199 freebore for factory Hornady
JP LMOS
JP HP bolt
JP SCS
Wojtek Gas block (more on that later)
Geissele HS-DMR trigger
Gen 1 UBR
Area 419 Hellfire
Cerakoted Battleworn Grey by Little Creek Outfitters
Had it out at 1000 yards this week. Windless day in perfect conditions and it was able to hold Sub-MOA through most of the day. Was also able to do Boom boom boom, Ding ding ding like Lowlight's JP video. It did not outshoot the 30" barreled 7 Mag on the right, also turned by Josh. But that's not exactly surprising.
100 yard groups. Mixed handloads with 140 ELDm and Factory loaded Hornady 140 ELDm. It's a relatively light load of 41.2 grains of H4350 at 2.810". The good news is it matches Factory Hornady POI and velocity so I can just grab a box if I don't have time to load. Both shoot a 140 ELDm@ 2720. Easy shooting load with no pressure signs or malfunctions.
Averaged .537 MOA. Would be much smaller, but there is a tendency to drop a round a 1/2" or so low. Not sure if that's shooter or rifle. Rifle has shot better individual groups, but this is the first time doing a 5x5. I will be putting it through it's paces this weekend at the MDPRS match.
