Not only should charges be pressed against this guy AFTER he is fired but every other Officer at this training should be removed from K9 duty also, since they acknowledge that they noticed this guy did not go check on his K9 partner the entire time even though they checked on theirs.
If a Police Officer sees a dog in a vehicle at a shopping center they break the window to free it but they ALL noticed the Officers K9 partner was not being checked on and they did nothing...not even "Hey dipshit, go let your dog out to pee"....

He's not doing his fucking job, none of the were obviously. Blue falcon buddy fuckers, paving the way. And they want a job policing you when they can't be bothered to police themselves. Fuck them.

I won't leave my dog in the truck for ten minutes and it bothers me to think how my dog and cat would fare if something happened to me at home with nobody to take care of them.

He was/is completely negligent and irresponsible. He should not only lose his badge and gun, for ever, but should be charged for animal neglect AND have to pay the PD back the $25K for loss of the dog.

That dog relied on the handler for his care. That officer took an oath to take care of that animal as a K9 handler.

The dog couldn't open the door and get out and the handler turned off the heat alarm, really? Oh and none of the other handlers didn't notice he didn't go out and let the dog out for 6 hours? Bull shit. they all took breaks at the same time and they went out to check on their dogs and let them out? No one noticed the dog in the car? Not running?

6 hours, really. Why don't you look up what happens to an animal that dies from heat stroke in a vehicle. It is a very agonizing death.

And yes, I like dogs better than most people.

Whenever I read a story about some asshole leaving a dog or baby in a car to bake I always lament that our society lacks the balls to do the only right thing: lock that fucker in the very same car on the next hot day so that he/she can experience the exact same horrific death.

And for the record, I think that cop knowingly and willfully murdered that dog.
