Rifle Scopes Looking for scope recommendations for ELR rig (300 norma mag)

At the distances you can get to with the 300 NM, it is hard not to recommend the NF 7-35. I just wish NF would offer a better choice for an illuminated tree reticle in it.

I would try to find someone/somewhere that would let you look through some of the scopes you listed...I personally would choose better glass over higher magnification...if you have a Cabelas near you they may have a kahles and the nightforce in stock and they will let you look through them outside...or at least here in Nevada they will

Brownells is about an hour away from me and they have both in stock. I might have to make a road trip.

yea, I really like my ebr-2c reticle oin my rzr HD gen.

Hi,

Since elevation is the easiest thing to get more of due to the numerous adjustable mount options, Tarac, etc...I would go with scope that has the reticle you want as long as that scope is mechanically repeatable. With your choices of NF7-35, SB5-25, K5-25....since they are all very well known for mechanically repeatable then I would go with NF7-35 strictly on its' higher magnification. YES I know that a majority of the time ELR shooters end up at around 19-22X as their most used magnification setting but there are times that the environment and conditions are just right in which you can dial the magnification higher, so having that option is always a good thing.

Sincerely,
Theis

That's a good very good though. I was also looking at the kahels 1050i, but it only has 55 moa of elevation. I really like the open reticle on the rzr.

For ELR, the TARAC device is a good idea. Aside from getting you extra cant, it also gets the line of sight a little higher and away from the barrel.

In principle, the upcoming March Genesis is sorta intended for ELR, but I am going to ignore it until it is finally out in a mil version. It is sorta baffling that they are starting with the MOA versoin.

If I were setting up an ELR rig right now, I would get Tangent Theta TT525P with a TARAC Charlie.

Its not on your list but I'm running a 3-27 hi power on mine it has 34 mil of elevation and the mount + rail on my rifle I can use nearly all of it I can run my 300 norma out to 2500 and still dialing elevation. Not to mention glass is phenomenal!

Any of the ones you listed other than the K525 is my recommendation. I think they are overpriced for what they are. The Razor is the best value. A used schmidt would be an awesome value as well around 2300 or so. The 7-35 is a great scope and probably the best option for this application but you're going to pay a lot. it's basically a scope/spotter combo. Above 28x about the eyebox becomes so tight it would be tough to spot shots, but it works as a spotter. The schmidt will get you the best glass, but the NF is right up there with it.
