Lets see your USMC M40-M40A6!!!

I would talk to Mr. Drinkwater and he should be able to assist. I live in King George and it wasn't an issue that ever came up.

Todays effort to get some Magnetospeed data for the next reloading session....

Not as miserable as the Chosin Res but kind of raw.....

PWS built M40A1 with accessory stud to allow Harris mount.

My Magnetospeed Data for 20 rounds 175 FGMM...

It took a few moments for us to reacquaint but once we started feeling it and I dialed in a 1/2 MOA down fine adjustment we settled in together.

....to create a fine mud anus in the berm.

Shit blew 20 feet in front of the target boards.

Beautiful!!!

A couple of early M40A3s.

First is just a regular M40A3 replica build. Second is my imaginary version of what a prototype build might have been when they were testing out transition rifles from the M40A1 to the A3 - using an original early large-butthook A4 stock in forest camo (had to "save" the stock by removing most of the baked on finish a previous owner put on it).

Had the rifle and 21 rounds of a ladder of reloads in the car all weekend but OT kept me from the range....more money for shooting.

My rifle in the waning days of winter.....

I used the same starting dope I fired with 175 FGMM and as these rounds are seeking a similar speed. Wrong. Sighter wasnt even on paper. Shots 1-2 showed I was high. Changed dope after that.

Speed data was what I was after.

FGMM 175 flies out of my rifle at 2657 MV.

I think 42.3 looks good on the target and the data book to meet that goal.

I think you need to pull them clones out for a photo shoot.

Working on a MARSOC version of a cqbr mod1 right now. Nt4 still in jail ?. Debating on a m4a1 mod 1.5 or a cqbr mod0 with a lmt upper i have.

The list is growing for what i want to build...SAM-R is sneaking up there.

Just go with regular #210. They are literally the same primer. Only difference between the 210 and 210M is that the 210Ms get two extra inspection steps. That’s it.

That model 70 is a sexy beast! What magnification is the scope? It amazes me that externally adjustable scopes like that can be reliable. I'm fully aware of that setups service in Vietnam and it's lethality. They just have the appearance of being fragile. Having said that, I'm extremely jealous and now I want one!

It's a 10X.

It's a great scope but yes I feel as you do it's not bullet proof.

I'll be mounting a green Leupold 3-9X replica of the M40 scope on it soon.

I rarely shoot over 300 yards so I will use the mil reticle for holds.

Not seeing much of them either but I haven't looked as hard.

The box of CCIs I have on hand will get me through my current .308 loading session.

I have 5000 WLRPs I will use in brass that was crimped at one time, they do well there.

I'll switch over to a bigger spec primer before I next load FGMM - CCI, 210M or 210 should be good.

Im thinking I should do

I recently found an old green Protecto/Hoppies case for my M40 rifle. (I will use with my M40A1 when after its built, as I think that's more correct).
It was in the corner of a local gun store, so it came home with me. Its not quite correct, but good enough, and now need to find the correct cleaning rod kit...

Good evening,

Do you guys know the original coloration of the Protecto used. There is a green as well as a brown one that I know are up on a shelf in a local gun shop.

Thanks gents,

Jon

Boot question, has anyone shoot Federal Gold Medal Berger through their M40A1-A5? I'm wondering if the 1:12 barrel can handle 185gr.
