Maggie’s What's Your View II

I loaded up some 7mm 168g MatchKings with 67g and they were moving at 2550. So, we'll see how much powder I gotta do to get to my desired 2900.... Or if I can get there.

2900 with 168's should be no problem. It's my stable load in 3 7MM's. Plenty of people shoot up to 3100 in some of them, but 2900 has been a great number for mine with 168 Bergers.

Did a little sandblasting this morning. Had a truck frame and 6 rims to do. I decided to try out some gloves a guy gave me.... while rolling a rim with my right hand and holding the nozzle in my left, the rim started to tip. Seeing as it a steel 22.5 with 11r tire, it’s not very light. Out of instinct to not let shit fall, I reached over with my left to try and stop it enough while still holding the nozzle. It made a quick pass across the top of my hand and got me. I’ve blasted through over 40 tons of sand and never had a mishap. Shit happens, but this one kind of hurt. Damn thing is going to take forever to heal!!View attachment 7066887View attachment 7066886
That blows...
Bead or Aluminum Oxide?

Exactly. As long as I can get 2850-2950 with no pressure signs, sub-MOA and reasonable numbers close to factory match ammo (SD's of 15-ish and under, ES's 50 and under) I know I'll be a very happy camper with this 24" Tikka Lite (Sporter contour) barrel until I shoot it out and can re-barrel to a 26" PVA M24/Marksman/medium Palma profile or similar.

Abby filed a complaint last week about the lack of padding in the rumble seat on the Polaris.
I was messing around in the shop last night and ran across an old hunting seat I had lying around.

She's happy with the results!

And the kitchen window view earlier this morning was a little different.

A couple of folks have been asking for an update on our Trooper who was injured in the motorcycle accident.
He's actually doing very well. Perhaps even better than expected!
He started PT this week and while he still has quite a ways to go, he's motivated, committed, and determined to get back as good or better than before!

Thanks once again to everyone who has supported them in prayer, thought, cards, letters, donations - everything!

I feed mine 62.5 gr of RL22, including my Fathers original 7MM BDL built in 69. Still has the original sporter barrel on it and still shoots extremely accurate. It's my go to gun every day.

This is Awesome News and thank you for sharing the update. And you're right, we are fortunate to have so many stand up people among us, it's absolutely incredible. As you know, we'll be sending along a handsome chunk of brib, money we've amassed on the side and are hoping others will see this and jump onboard as well. I am expecting a couple more snail mails and we'll fire for effect. ;)

We've been busy..............?

These are the kids. Nothing special, but they shoot. A very generous friend on here is sending me some 151 gr Flatlines to try out. Can't wait to see what they do. I've been stuck on Bergers for a long time, but these things, after looking at their published BC's, is pretty incredible compared to the 168 Bergers.

Geno how is the hand doing?

Tucker is the pond wheel chair redneckable? I think that young man and wife need a fishing day.

Didn't get to see my son last weekend looking forward to 5am tomorrow

Funny how the court system works mom doesn't follow court orders, I don't get to see my son and I'm the one paying lawyer bills taking her back to court...

Oh well 5am nothing else matters.Screenshot_20190413-214112_Snapchat.jpg

The one on the right puts up with me.
She goes in on the 30th for RN state boards. She's freaking out it's her 2nd try.

We've had Riley over and on the dock before, but I'm scheming to make it easier. Thinking of putting floating dock off the dam and then dropping some cedar trees off the front corners of it. A buddy had a setup like that on a nearby lake years ago and all you had to was drop a crappie jig in and let it start sinking. Pretty much guaranteed a fat slab every time.
If I can get it setup on the dam they can drive him right to it in the van and ramp out ot where the dock would begin.

I promised Riley an ATV ride this weekend, so I might be able to get him on the existing dock with the Polaris and get a jig in the water. He's not too good with his hands, but we can help him out.

Well shoot.

@Tucker. I know you make funny jokes about atoning for your earlier transgressions. I figure you just figured out whats important. Its funny how we “get it” and you have my friend.
My brother came down to visit tonight. We went shooting for a couple hours, exposed some meat to fire, and drinking some beers (or a lot). He is the head janitor at his small town middle school. He has been telling stories about all the fun he has at work with his “buddies”. All special needs kids he has befriended over the year. He has them helping with all kinds of stuff. One kid he got a cup for Christmas just like his own coffee cup. Kid asked him if he could fill it up right then with water and has carried it all day every day since.

I told him about our deal for the Trooper and he thought that was cool. He asked what I was grinnin about and I told him about you taking Riley fishin. He got quiet. For all our differences, we are a lot alike. He loves the idea of helping someone who could use a little boost in life.

We are a bunch of misfits here. But you fuck with someone who may be a tad different or need a little help and you have messed with the wrong group of grumpy old farts.

@Bryan W M brother, keep up the good stuff. One, I bust a lot of jokes about crazy women nurses. And I am fixin to marry one (a goddess and an angel). Some are crazy. Many have hearts of gold and a little flaw or two (cuz we dont....) along the way. The NCLEX is a bear. I remember well how much it sucked.
And your little guy. Great job buddy. My ex is a PITA too. My little angel was so pissed off on Weds she dropped an F bomb on me. She was so mad her mom can never make time for anything at school but dad always can. And my lady does too. Always.
Kiddo is learning way to early about the realities of people (her mom) and their priorities.

When it seens impossible, its not. When it seems hopeless, its not. When you are tired, you are just primed to fight.
We men have a HUGE duty to our kids to teach them correctly and be a great leader for them and influence in their life. They are screwed without us. I will pray your custody crap is sorted soon. Its a lot to bear. I bet many of our other men here will as well (ahem....).

Im in for some more for our trooper. Will send box of pennies to Mr. 1J04 tomorrow for him to convert to internet money for our guy (thanks Crick for that).

Back to Hooterville tonight after a 3 day pull. Spring is a bit late, fellas are getting antsy, etc... Custom applicator putting on Anhydrous. I was thankful the wind was blowing away from the house. Had my fill of that stuff as a kid. A good whiff will take your air away and you think you’re gonna’ die.

Something like this????

That's a little more elaborate than what I had in mind, but the idea is right. The existing dock is built on poles and it sits a little higher than what I'd like. A floating platform would not only be right on the water but it would provide good shade and structure for the fish. Minnows also nest on the underside of such structures, so it's all good.

@tnichols, excuse my ignorance, I know nothing of farming. What is the reason for the application of ammonia ? Is it a fertilizer or is it used to kill bugs or something ?
