I’ve seen a few posts, all positive, regarding stocks from these two companies... Does anybody have the 411 on them? How long have they been around? Quality compared to Manners/McMillan?

The stocks look great and seem to be priced fair. Just curious because they’re not as prolific as the usual brands.

I have seen both. Met people from both companies. I would have no problem buying either one. But, I really like my McMillan Gamewarden.

Right on! These look great! Just looking for other options when I’m ready to pull the trigger on another stick. Super happy with my Manners EH1-A at the moment, though.

I have an AG carbon all terrain on a custom build. Very happy with the quality of the stock and it is very light. Combined with a Proof barrel it gives me an extremely accurate rifle that is light enough to use on mountain hunts.

What do you like better about them? Thanks

Really everything. They have less flex than my Manners, the attention to detail is fantastic, the action inlet was perfect (granted small sample size of 2/2) and the barrel channels were perfect. My EH1 is the better of my two Manners fit and finish wise, but it also had a gunsmith build it, so it could have been a blank and he inlet it, I'm not sure. My PRS2 barrel channel is skewed to one side over the other, and the Mini Chassis inlet is poor, and the bedding job to bed the Mini Chassis was poor. The AG stocks also weighed their advertised weights, and have a texture on them that I prefer; almost feels like spray on bed liner (you could probably get Manners with that material as well, never looked into it). Overall I won't buy another Manners with these companies in the current market as I just think you get a better product for your money. It would be similar to buying brass that already came with the primer pockets uniformed, chamfered, flash hole deburred, and weight sorted vs just bulk brass. They both get the job done, but one required a lot of time for me to have the way I want it (granted there is probably some OCD in there coming out!). I don't know what the current price is for either, but I would pay more for an AG than a Manners. I'm sure others will have other opinions. Again, this is a sample size of 2 for each brand so pretty small.

That sounds pretty awesome! Thanks for taking the time to expound on your opinion. I messaged AG and they use loggerhead hardware in the adjustable hunter. From you and others who have them, these seem to deserve a hard look when shopping for stocks.

I didn't get adjustable as these were for lighter weight builds, but I do really like the loggerhead hardware. I have a KMW Sentinel and the loggerhead has been fantastic.

AG Composites is an oem stock supplier to Kimber and Barrett. They have been around for a while and make a great product. JCS Stocks from what I hear are comparable but don't have any personal experience with the JCS stocks. Thinking about one for a Tikka 6.5 prc build I am doing now. They advertise 3 week delivery but know one person that is just over a month from order date and no stock yet. Still better than 4-6 months or longer for Manners.
