Having tested this first hand --from an early release prototype with a friend who was help the team overseas develop it... (Peter you are a Saint!) I have to say hands down.. the BEST BORE SCOPE TO HIT THE MARKET SINCE ---EVER!! The price is finally cheap enough that the regular Joe can afford it without any loss of quality compared to the big brand names with unacceptably high price levels of $750 for the Hawkeye and $300 for the Lyman.

FINALLY a QUALITY CHEAP CAMERA THAT FITS 223!

BRILLIANT JOB PETER! Thank you for all the hard work and the months of back and forth with the team overseas. BTW Guys.. Peter did this out of the goodness of his heart! He is dedicated to the sport. He made not a bloody penny for all his hard work to get this thing made.

THIS IS THE GAME CHANGER in BORE SCOPES GUYS!! I'm really happy to be the one announcing it here... I'll eat my hat if you aren't thrilled with it!!

Here's is my test video when asked to test the prototype on my AR15 taken just days ago.

I actually still have my prototype but I just ordered it outright via Amazon just now .... to support the cause and see the shipment date.. Amazon states delivery this THURSDAY! I'm kind of surprised at that being that it was only a couple weeks ago I was given the final prototype to test. These guys are on it!

Yes!.. I think so. I mean I got it hooked up on my Smart phone Samsung Note 9. So if it worked there it has to work on an iPad. Right?

But for Andriod you have to get the right software.. most USB Camera software arefucking GARBAGE... I learned that the hard way by having to install and UNinstall 4 or 5 different ones. SO ANNNOYING...

    Let me get the link.

    UPDATE:

Here's the link and directions as I wrote them to my friend Peter I was testing it for. LOL

    1) Open Google Play and search for USB Camera.

    2) Select
USB Camera by Shen Yao as seen below. I tried 4 or 5 others and they are for shit. This was the only one that worked flawlessly and first time.

    7117408

    3) Click “Install”

    4) Wait a few moments for the OPEN button to appear.

    5) Accept all pop up alert(s) it might throw up informing you it needs access to your phone’s camera.

    6) It will prompt you to plug the Camera in.

    7) Accept the inquiry to allow USB camera software to access the USB camera hardware.

    8) You should immediately see what the USB camera is seeing.

If you don’t you’re a fucking retard. Please throw your phone out and go back to using a landline.

well when you get it could you post a video on how it looks and works and what you think ?

Of course.. I'd be happy too!... Did you see the video above tho? That's the prototype one. I'll post the new one on Friday. Along with pictures of the packaging etc. When I got the prototype from my friend Peter it was just the scope in an envelop with the parts taped padded with paper towel. Ha.

But to honest I even accidently dropped the camera end 4' to the floor --worked perfect after that too.

Here's pictures of the prototype model I tested. It uses the newer phone connector adapter.

Peter the guy that got this thing made just tried to respond the to iPad question but since he's not on this forum he couldn't immediately answer cause he's not approved yet. to post... so asked me to post his answer:

    ----------------

I tried to register at SH but it takes an approval. Please answer the new "Can you use it with an iPad" with an emphatic YES

What I was going say was... Yes, it works with IPad (hardwired) as well as everything else, I think. The next generation coming out soon will be WiFi'd. I THINK that version might only be Android for a while, but I am sure they will solve that issue soon as well. This young camera production team is filled with real "go getters".

If you use my words, and feel that is more than you would know, just say something like "I just asked my friend, and he said...."

Nice option I'm interested in some more feedback. Can it be "hardwired" to an iPhone?

$50 and free prime one day? Yeah, sure, I'm curious, and I can use it for other around the house inspections I do routinely.

I'll post back after trying it this weekend.

What the heck, ordered. I've always wanted to see how dirty I let my bores get.

Oh.. and I needed to add. a couple points:

    1) I used the free VLC software (https://www.videolan.org/vlc) to take the video on my computer. Instructions here: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/record-your-webcam-vlc-media-player However any software that offers a "web cam" / usb camera option, should work.

    2) If you go the Smartphone/Android route and use the USB Camera by Shen Yao be advised you will likely have to remove any case your phone has in order for the camera plug to fully fit in the slot. That right there will save you 5 minutes of dicking around, fiddling and cursing.

I think I'll wait for the Wifi option. Would he happen to have an ETA?

Sorry, Don't know an ETA on Wifi..... or if they're 'for sure' going to offer that option.

I think Peter just joined here.. (awaiting approval) so maybe he can better reply to that Peter? Hello? You here? ;)

Based on the video it seems the Lyman probably has a larger field of view but for $50 but idk why you'd buy anything else.

If you get one.... I look forward to the comparisons. The apparent speed and eagerness at which these guys address the development I'm sure they'll want to hear ALL your reviews too.

In fact they might even be reading this thread as I think Peter sent them the link.

I'll bite, just ordered. Don't own one, and didn't want to spend to much on getting one.

Be interested to see how it looks hooked up to my computer. Sure my father will want to use it as well.

Yeah, but where does one come up with over the counter propofol to go along with the butt trumpet probing ? :cool::cool::cool:
Bro.. far be it for me to critique anyone's extracurricular activities... and Im no expert ... but Golly... I have to say... If you need propofol... I suspect you're doing something seriously WRONG.... You're supposed to reeeelaaaax and glide... Not clench and ram.

Good eye, my friend. That is purely because the camera's focal point requires just a bit more distance for perfection than they planned for this first generation. What you see blocking a wider field of view is simply the extra threads being lit up bright by the camera head's LED lights. But "Mea culpa"...my fault. I pushed them to get this out for the summer shooting season for those not living in southern climes. We missed my July 4th target date, but not by much. But this first gen. is very much worth it. Thanks for the observation.

Almost bought the $200 lyman just so I could check my dashers for carbon ring build up. Pulled the trigger on one of these and if it can just show me the neck decently itll be well worth the 50 bucks.

I don’t know of any way to use an iPad or iPhone as a monitor, it’s a damn shame.
This first gen. is very usable with PC laptop, Mac Laptop, and Android. But I know the maker is going to bring out a WiFi Android attachment soon. There is some trouble with getting it WiFi'd on iPhone right now, but if anyone can figure it out, these competent young guys will figure it out. I never asked them if the problem is software or licensing. I'll try to find out soon.

    DIY colonoscopies?

Gotta pay for ammo somehow man. I'm not a doctor, but I'll have a look anyways.

No, but I do have the fancy red wine that comes in the box. Stays fresher, for your pleasure!

T-Rex... love the spirit of adventure.. careful tho.. I hear once down that path there might not be a way back. lololol

I know what you mean, but I'm sick and tired of the lady friend busting off half a cork in the bottle, or leaving an uncorked bottle out to spoil. These wine boxes are FAR more convenient!

Call me skeptical. I’m betting $50 doesn’t get you close to a $1k Hawkeye.

Hopefully it works well. The last teslong I tried was shit.
Hi Thomas: I suspect that the past Chinese camera disappointment was because these poor "offshore" (Hong Kong) guys are not even ALLOWED to have guns period. None of these companies, whether or not they had recently solved the needed tiny camera diameter to get it into a .223 barrel, did not know that the focus point needed to be at (c.) 1/2 inch for any mirror accessory to be in usable focus. The typical 2" focus point was correct for plumbing pipe and internal combustion engine interior inspection but not for a smaller diameter rifle barrel. Once I explained to these young go-getters the two required modifications (short focus and .20 camera head diameter, it was "off to the races!" Will this new bore scope be the exact same as the as what you call the near-medical quality optics of the $1000 Hawkeye? What I shot for was to get a reasonably priced, high quality bore scope with pretty much undetectable by eye (and not Nikon/Olympus test equipment) 97% comparison with the higher priced bore scopes. There are a lot of reasonable shooters (heck, me included) who would make a decision to buy a Remington quality rifle versus a new toy, when they have little knowledge of just what benefits a bore scope brings to the table. Now we have quality at a workable price point. Well, that was my goal anyway. I really think you will be pleased if you get this new scope. I kid you not. :)

Hi, all. I am Marc's friend Peter, who thinks he has succeeded in my goal of bringing a high quality bore scope product in the price range of most shooters. I just joined this forum, and have zero knowledge of the way to best handle questions asked farther down to posts, and to bring them up to the top, but I will try by this approach. I will reply to good friend Marc's initial post here and reply with both the question and my answer so you don't have to go through the whole string if you just want your question answered near the top. To that end, I post this...

I misled you in my earlier post. Hong Kong just checked in answering my "hook up" question. Here is his response........
Because of the limit of the iOS system, USB cameras cannot connect directly to iPhones and iPads. Can only be used on the iPhone via the WiFi adapter.
The WiFi version is being produced and it takes about 20 days to complete production.
