Determining rifle angle

Is there an inexpensive tool/aid to determine rifle angle? I remember seeing an Army marksmanship team video and they used a plastic item that was place on the rifle to determine the angle.

A mil-dot master has a slope angle indicator on the back of it. Use a string through the hole in the corner and put a small weight on the end. Small washer, fishing weight, or even tie an empty piece of brass on it.

I use my rangefinder as it has this function built in but you can buy a digital or analog angle meter to do this and they are fairly cheap.
