Guide to The Stranger
Philadelphia
This handy guide to the nightlife of Philly was first published in 1849, though it may have existed in a different form prior to that. The book served as a guide to the bathhouses, brothels and houses that could service whatever itches you needed scratched. The author offered reviews and suggestions for what to ask for, but would also call out the places where you were likely to catch a disease. They’d also break down where to go if you were a gentleman versus a rowdy commoner, and where you could catch all variations of shows between women, men, and even animals.
I'll be in Philly until 2. Can you send me a copy of this? Quickly?

I see where the NFL is headed

To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into stadiums, NFL teams have implemented an NFL policy this year that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into stadiums.

The NFL Committee on Stadium Security in May unanimously recommended the implementation of this measure that will enhance public safety and make it easier for fans to gain access to all stadiums.

The NFL strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bags, but outlined today what is permissible. Beginning with preseason games, fans will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container at stadium plaza areas, stadium gates, or when approaching queue lines of fans awaiting entry into the stadium:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12." (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags will be available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com/allclear), or
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

I unfortunately work with a ChiCom - he reckons they can sink Carriers with their hypersonic missiles... I'm not sure however I really really hope they can't... I don't like the fact we have the Chinese right on our doorstep... Opinions please! (however he also reckons their fighters are at the same standard as the f22 which I call BS on)

chicoms think like russia..one way trips

the chinese stealth may just be as stealth from a head on position
they want to fly in close launch munitions and sink the navy
loosing the plane on the way back after it sank a good size ship is all they are planning to do

same with hypersonic missiles, knock a ship
or make the navy stay a little farther out than we want

now take one way stealth fighter to knock down mid air refueling and it becomes a stalemate

but since the DOD arent total morons, thats why we are pushing the F-35
the plan is to have 1 f35 with 4-5 drones...make them use their munitions and planes before we do

also dont forget
like russia they only have a few of these weapons

Hmm thats a good point - sacrificing one fighter to take out a ship is a win for them. Re hypersonics - I guess there really isn't a defense other than out ranging them. As much as I hate to think it, seems the ChiComs have won the area-denial battle?
