16-18 inch shorty rifles

6x47 Lapua
16.5” Proof Barrel
McMillan Game Hunter w/ Edge Fill
Tikka T3
Grayboe DBM
Thunderbeast Ultra 7 6.5

Should work nice for WV deer hunts where 300yds is a long shot. Haven’t shot it yet so I’m curious what kind of velocity I’ll get with the 88gr Hammer Hunters.

Weighs exactly 8lbs all in. 7lbs 6oz without the can.

DT SRS A2 Covert
16.5" 308 barrel from Eric @ES-Tactical
Heathen muzzle brake

Took it hog hunting last week, LOVED the 26" overall length, and it performed great...dropped all 3 hogs in their tracks, with 2 head shots (lowlight at dawn and dusk) and the third at a sprint in the pitch black (not even a moon) with a visible light.

Loving this thing so far. Haven't found a load for it yet (used Hornady 165 SST on the hogs), working on that next.

Hopefully moving from Japanese to European glass soon, thanks to Richard @CSTactical ... ?

Dude that is exactly what I have been thinking of building for a shorty even with a K318

I just got done with this 16.5” Tikka T3 in 6 Creedmoor with a Proof Research barrel and Manners CS Stock. I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet because I just got it back on Tuesday.

WTH, how did you get it inletted for a Tikka? I talked to them just the other day and they said neither one of the compact stocks work with Tikka actions!

Finally got it spun together, and holy shit does it like the new Federal load with the 95gr Berger Hybrid Hunter. If you’re local to the Midwest (or even if you’re not) and need a barrel chambered, Caleb at Alpha & Omega Rifle and Tool does an amazing job. I’m not a “great shot” by any means, but having quality work sure makes it look good.;)

16.5” Green Mountain in .243
Bighorn Origin SA
HS Precision with PTG DBM
TT Primary
Gen 1 PST 2.5-10 in Pro Rings

Total with glass is 9.8lbs.

I believe the saying is “That dog will hunt.”

I love it. How long is it, minus the brake?

16.5in PVA barrel. Got it to the range for the first time tonight. Early data suggests it will be a shooter. I dont have the specific SF can for this specific brake, but I do have the FS762SS (currently in jail) that I could make work. But would require recontouring the barrel. Debating on that or waiting another 12 months and ordering a TBAC.

I tend to lurk a lot and post little, but here's my ultimate shorty! Needs a lighter scope though.

It shoots far better than I can, I'm sure the right shooter could do tighter groups than this all day long, but It'll do for amateur work with factory ammo. Group is 5 shots of Hornady precision hunter at 100 yards.

Do you know what the stock and bottom metal weigh together?

I'm not sure. I got the stock as a flat-top from Mcmillan, then LRI did all the inletting and bedding. Given LRI's brick-shithouse design technique, I imagine it is a little bit heavier than a drop-in from Mcmillan with bedding matieral and all that, but you can't argue that it shoots! And its still acceptably light.
