MDT ACC Chassis

Question -- I'm planning on going the MDT route, but this means also my fiance will want one as well, but she's a lefty. Do you guys have any timeline on when the MDT ACC will be available for the Tikka T3 in Lefty?

At this time there isn't a left handed Tikka in the works for the ACC, we do offer it in our ESS and LSS-XL Gen2, otherwise, for the ACC we only offer the 700 short action in left.

I thought, i believe it was Josh, had milled his out for a left hand tikka. Just the slot for the bolt handle, and cant remember if the bolt stop was in need of clearance

Yes, you can mill the bolt slot on the left-hand side, there should be plenty clearance for the bolt stop.

Alright guys, I removed the fixed ACC stock and installed the new folder. Showed the differences between the 2 stocks, installation, etc. Video should be up in the next 24-48hr for you guys on the fence or wondering about upgrading your ACC fixed to a folder. Just gotta edit video

@BallisticPrimate and @Tactical Taz I appreciate the kind words and great review! We really did work hard on this chassis, and to see the early support it's getting makes me happy :)

To clarify the RRS/Arca dovetail issue, @MPHReallyRightStuff, myself and others we work with have had a few discussions on this offline and have come up with a solution. Essentially, this was our first go at machining the RRS dovetail into a chassis (rather than just a bolt on accessory) and the early ones had some slight... hiccups. This is only prevalent with the RRS lever clamps and you will not see it with the knob-type attachments (not sure what Buck was doing at SHOT lol). We have since corrected some of our machining processes, and are more than happy to switch out your chassis if you'd like?

PM me with questions and pictures if you're having problems :)

Hey Josh. Thank you for keeping us informed on what MDT is up to. We really appreciate it! Question for you...I'm getting 2 ACC chassis and have 5x25x56 S&B scope. I really like RRS 1 piece scope mount. Do I get 1.25 or 1.5 height mount in 34mm. One will be used with Defiance Deviant Elite and other with Impact Action. Both have integrated 20MOA rail. Thanks Josh.

It will depend on the height of the rail which the chassis has no impact on. You may be able to fit with the 1.25" model, however, we make a 1.34" height mount which should fit that without issue.

Quick review of fixed vs folding ACC stock and removal/installation for you guys. LOVE the folder, especially when it comes to cleaning.

Big thanks to the guys over @ MDT for sending this over and their continued support of Snipers Hide and the precision shooting community as a whole! MDT has been killing it lately with innovative and frequent product releases !!

Its marked as Unlisted like all my other videos. I can view it on multiple different devices. Changed to public. Let me know.

Thanks. Question -- it looks like with the MDT ACC fixed stock that through the barrel if I was cleaning it with a rod, that the stock looks to be below the action so the rod can go straight through, and the only thing I'd have to do is to lower the cheek piece all the way down. Is that correct?

The folder stock actually looks like everything is raised, so it could have that wider opening for the bolt to fit in.

Yes, you can lower the cheek riser, and a rod should pass through easily. With the lasered rods I remove the cheek riser, I like a bit more clearance since I have big hands.

Can anyone with an ACC and a set of calipers in hand take a couple quick measurements for me?

Looking for:
- Width of the cheek piece
- Height and width of the recoil pad
--- Approximate mounting hole spacing of the recoil pad screws

Thanks!

Sam

I'm sure MDT_Josh or MDT_Official will be by in a few and show my measurements to be off just a bit...but here was a quick measurement.

Width of cheek piece... hard to measure with the neoprene on mine...but somewhere close to 1.6"

Height and width of recoil pad....
Height: 5"
Width: it is tapered in the middle...so somewhere at the top and bottom of 1.57" and the middle somewhere close to 1.42"...

Spacing...somewhere around 2.65"

I'm sure they will be around in a bit with true measurements.

Looking for:
- Width of the cheek piece
1.5 in
- Height and width of the recoil pad
H 4.9in W 1.5-1.3
--- Approximate mounting hole spacing of the recoil pad screws
2.5in

Thanks!

It was answered above, we modified your post with measurements.

@MDT_OFFICIAL I read through this thread now and somewhere since the start of the MDT ACC the LOP got changed from 14" minimum to something like 13.3" do you have an approximate date when this happened? I see a few MDT ACC on the exchange, and wanted to pick one up for my Tikka T3x/T1x but I shoot with a 13.5 LOP so the 14" will not work for me. I have sent PM's to see if people can measure, but just wanted some general timeline verification.

Thanks!

A quick question when folding right over a defiance deviant does it clear the bolt handle, and has anyone tried with a chamber flag in where the bolt is open and slightly back? I would like to fold right and strap to my ruck between stages and I keep a chamber flag on with cord holding it forward, it looks like it should clear.

It was a rolling changed that occurred about 2 - 4 months ago.

I had the seller measure it, and it looks like the buttstock + chassis was 13.5" LOP so one of the newer models I guess.

For clarity; we measure the LOP from approximately where the trigger shoe will be (on a dead standard R700 SA RH), which then varies from inlet to inlet and trigger to trigger. This was one of the driving features behind the adjustable grip too, as well as shortening the overall LOP, all in an effort to help the shooter tailor the end fitment of their system to them.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 3/8" LOP difference, because if you're running a TT Diamond, Timney CE, Bix'n'Andy Tacsport Pro or any other trigger out there, technically, the LOP will be different! Additionally, if you're shooting a Tikka, Howa or Savage, then the LOP changes all over again.

Just something to keep in mind,
Josh

Thanks Josh. I do shoot a Tikka today in a KRG Bravo and my LOP to the trigger was 13.5". It used to be 13.8" but I shortened it and it feels a lot better. So I was worried that a minimum 14" was too long. I'm excited to play around with it. Definitely is going to be a lot heavier than my current setup, especially with some of the weights for balance.

@MDT_OFFICIAL I got my setup put together and wanted to use it for NRL22. It's sitting at 14.5 lbs or so and wanted to lighten it up if possible. Is there anyway to lighten the stock? I know there's a heavy metal piece on the buttpad, is that replaceable with some polymer version? I have the fore-end weights to get it balance right around the mag well. Otherwise way too butt heavy.

Also does your buttstock come with the 8mm allen wrench? I didn't own one and that was a lot of work to get it onto the fore-end. Need to go try to find one at the hardware store, ended up having an 8mm bit for my torque wrench and tried to tigthen it by using some small pliers.

We make an aluminum version of the buttpad base, which we can sell you. Send us an e-mail through our support portal and we can get the purchase set up.

It does not come with an Allen wrench; it is 5/16" for the buttstock to chassis.

You can substitute the included set screws instead of the thumbscrews on your buttpad, cheek riser and length of pull.....it will be minimal..but may be just the right thing for a balance with the front end.

It's hard to get balance right when you are running that tiny barrel.

@MDT_OFFICIAL .....can you guys think about making an MDT ACC-22 that is shorter on fore end length? That would not help the balance...but with 1-2 internal weights out there...it would balance fine...and look a lot better.

I was considering a 22" barrel, but 20" was heavy enough for my 22... I could've gone 22" fluted and been a little lighter... but too late now.

Thanks, just cancelled my order for an 8mm wrench to get the 5/16" instead. How much weight savings is the aluminum vs steel? Just curious to make the calculations...

Its around a .5 pound difference.

Wow you guys sure deliver. #1, didn't even know your dealer was in WA. #2 I placed this order yesterday afternoon at like 3pm, and it arrived today at my door at 2pm. I didn't realize you guys were going to send it 1-day.

I removed the fore-end weights, ~.8lb difference, and the .45lb buttpad, so 1.25lbs lightened made it much easier to shoot offhand. I can remove the other .25lb from the bagrider, but I left it on there for now. I'm now sitting at about 13lbs I believe which I found comfortable enough to do unsupported prone and standing offhand.

So now I have 2lbs of weights to play with in the future when I move this over to my 308 and if I want to get it weighing around 17lbs.

Thanks MDT!

We do have dealers in WA, however, our main US warehouse is in Washington state. Glad to hear it arrived so soon! It sounds like your set now!

I ordered a stock and a bare chassis late last night. Not as cheap as the complete chassis deal, but still saved 3-$400.

I grabbed two 300wm cip mags for my 300prc.... probably should have bought two more

By some black friday miracle I managed to get one ordered yesterday. Is the lead time for these really going to be 8-12 or is that just a disclaimer you put on everthing?

What did you order and what time? At 6am yesterday anything Rem700 footprint was sold out. For me anyway.
