Update: Despite the massive number of Virginians speaking out against new gun control bills VA dems are doubling down.
13 new anti-gun bills proposed today.

I heard the VA Beach shooter had 2 Glock 45 Cal with a supressor on one of them. All legally bought. A supressor on a 45 isn't going to get people shot in the back of the head without the person 2 ft away knowing about it. It probably takes it down from 160 decibels to 130, indoors. 130 decibels indoors isn't exactly a covert operation. He didn't sneak up on anyone because of that feature but these stupid fucks think it makes them silent.

I think a line has, or is about to be crossed. I'm afraid the democrats are going to cause a lot of damage and get a bunch of people hurt (or worse). They intend to rule.

That has played out all across the state. Folks are mad. Ultimately, we will have an answer if/when the laws are passed. I hope they aren't passed but I'm not optimistic.

At the moment this has not cost anyone much. Sacrificing lives is a whole different matter. I just think this should be approached cautiously, because it may cost lives.

There has been a lot written about this and I believe Bracken has discussed it also. It generally is discussed in a very negative way. Just think about thousands of armed men trying to make the trip down there across multiple state lines. The Feds would nab most on some sort of trumped up charges (no pun intended). In addition, many have said that huge bands of people coming in from other states will create more havoc than help and leave the VA citizens to clean up the mess.
Not sure that the people of VA need outside help unless things get really spicy. If that happens, you will be much better off staying put and protecting your family and AO.
The idea of the feds trying to stop “volunteers” from other states on trumped-up charges - would simply spread the fight to other states and the wildfire would spread nationwide. I assume you mean checkpoints and search of vehicles entering VA? Huge logistical challenge to say the least. Manpower, cost, impeding commerce...this itself would be a huge cluster fk nightmare.
Moreover, there are lots of ways into VA aside from interstate highway. Especially from the west and south.
As for unwanted...well, I have no doubt the fine people of VA can handle themselves. But the types that will head there have skills the people of VA would likely find useful.

when you buy a gun, from a dealer or private, it is law to check for the prohibited possessor mark. If it isn’t there, you pay the money and walk out with the gun. No paperwork, no 4473.

I’ve been to gun shows where there were tables at which I could buy an AR for cash without giving my name at all, much less an ID. Are they breaking the law?
Nope. I am just saying that what I mentioned would be the solution that both sides “say” they want. No registration or paperwork and everyone has a background check.
Depends on what state you are in and if they are vendors. We dont need backround checks if buying from individuals but I have noticed people are "self policing" individual gun sales. Sellers want to see state ID and/or CCW cards.
I just think if you set up a database where the average person (no FFL) can call in and check if somebody has a felony or a restraining order, then you set up potential for abuse, plus the potential to track sales between individuals. That seems like de facto registration to me. Eventually, the government could track every sale and thus every firearm, even if no reg number is recorded, and it’s not known if the sale went through. Only untraceable sales prevent it.
