the reticles aren't my favorite
![]()
i had one of these on a .300blk out for awhile. killed a deer with it. i actually really liked it. think i might pick this one up for my 5.56 build
Does it have daylight bright illume?
With this one;
i wonder if the turrets click values are MIL and the reticle MOA.. seems to be that way from what i read. This is why i went with the 4-20, at least that's advertised as MOA-MOA..![]()

Gosh damn it!!!
UPS f’ed up my box. Sunshade is oval but the rest of the scope looks fine. Crosshairs are heavier than I like at 25x and eyebox seems more critical than some of my other scope but on par with the Athlon at 27x (eyebox that is), but I will really be able to tell when I mount it and use it.

Have you had a chance to mount it yet? Curious what your thoughts are on the eyebox.
Got it mounted but haven't shot it so my opinions might change after a range session or two and maybe a competition or 2 with it.
So comparing to my other scopes (took it outback and focused on some trees on the mountains away from my house) I would say the
Athlon Midas BTR 4.5-27 - Riton has the better eyebox and better glass but the reticle is much better in the Athlon. Knobs are better on the Riton but the magnification ring and parallax turn easier with the Athlon. Illumination is almost nonexistent in the Athlon so the Riton is better.
Swampfox Kentucky Long Range 3-18 - Eyebox is better on the lower powers on the SW but at the upper power ranges they seem pretty close but the Riton sits in an adjustable stock so that might make it easier to get behind. Glass clarity is close on these two. I need a lot more time behind both to really determine which is better. The reticle is tons better in the SF but at lower power the Riton should be faster. I Turrets are close on the two of them and power ring has a fin on the SF making it easier to turn.
Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18 - Surprisingly I think this one has a better eyebox on 18x vs the Riton on 18x and 25x. Clarity on the Riton stomps the SE in the ground. Reticle on the SE is good, turrets are better on the Riton, and the only other area that the SE is superior is the magnification and parallax rings turn easier
I have a few lower end scopes I have compared it to (Vortex Diamonback HP's 4-16, 3-12 & 3-12 vector optics but they aren't close enough in power to compare to the Riton
Well it definitely sounds promising so far. I know for 2020 they have made vast improvements on not only the scope itself, but especially the reticle. For $350 though, pretty decent bang for your buck; or at least it sounds like it.
best 350.00 scope I’ve have ever got behind.
It’s not perfect but for the price I can’t complain.
