I am looking at doing a 6.5CM built on a Ghost upper and lower, which is the DPMS Style receivers. The best I have seen from them in a basic put it together and shoot configuration is around 1.25 MOA. Is there a way to accurize this? Maybe machine the barrel flat completely square? Bedding upper and lower? barrel bedding with Devcon? If not, I may shitcan the whole idea and buy one already rolled up.

True receiver face. Use an oversized barrel extension so you can thermo fit it to the receiver. If not that, red loc-tite the barrel extension to receiver. Meticuluos mating of the gas tube to the receiver and carrier such that there is no stress put on the barrel from the gas tube. All may help.

My own feeling is the best thing you can do to increase the precision of your rifle is to start out with a quality barrel and work up a hand load that it likes.

Don't forget that the shooter is at least 1/2 of the equation. Good trigger, adjustable stock, ergonomic grip, solid bipod, rear bag, quality glass, dependable rings. It's a system and everything needs to play together.

I know the barrel is very important, as is hand loading. I'm not new to precision rifles, just new to making gassers accurate. I'm also impatient as hell and don't want to wait on George's (well worth it) lead time at GAP. The barrel I have picked out is actually a Proof finished at 23" because I'm weird but don't know anything past that.

Fundamentals, barrel, decent trigger. Large frame gassers are definitely an entirely different animal. Personally, I'd build it; for the experience if nothing more. Being able to see and do, along with trial and error, is a big thing for me. Becoming that much more familiar with the weapon system. As far as sub-moa: built or bought, were not talking about hundreds anymore.

I don't have an issue with tying up $4k in a rifle. I do, however, require it to be to my exact specification when I tie up that kind of funding in it. I know the basics. Trigger will probably be a Geissele SSA-E, barrel has been picked, gas block will be a BAD adjustable for the purpose of running a can on it.

I'm more concerned with the little tricks I can do to increase accuracy, even if it true up the barrel journal in the receiver and have the barrel cut exactly to the trued up journal. Right now, I don't know what I don't know.

I do know it won't be near as tight as a bolt gun but the better starting point I have, the better I can be with it.
