How long are the current wait times?
Filed mine 2-2-2020

Mine was approved in slightly under a month.

If you filed 2/2 then you'll probably get approved end of Feb.

Got mine in 38 days. Not bad, considering this was between thanksgiving and just after new years.

Damn shame they cannot do form 4’s like this. I still cannot wrap my head around it.

efiled form 1 for sbr on 1/24. cover letter emailed to me 1/26 (sunday!). i put prints in the mail that monday. today, 2/26, received approval! so basically a month after they got the prints. and i actually had the lower engraved this morning before i got the notice, so i am LEGIT!

I just filed one a few minutes ago. How long does it take for them to e-mail a cover sheet to mail with the fingerprint cards?

The process was really easy except for one strange thing. The only options to list the information for the suppressor that I'm building were in the drop-down menus. That's when the problem seemed to start.

The drop-down menu wanted to know the name of the manufacturer. It tried to auto-fill from a list of manufacturers.

Because this is my first suppressor that I'm making, the drop-down menu didn't have my name. So, I'm an unknown manufacturer that they are going to have to research. They provided a caveat that because they have to research it that it could take an longer than normal delay.

I continued the application process as there was no other options. After making the payment and submitting everything I got an e-mail with the completed From 1 with a watermarked "DRAFT" on it.

The e-mail also stated; "This is to advise you that the status of your eForms submission with the subject Permit/Control number has changed to PENDING RESEARCH"

Is this normal or unusual? Did I screw something up?

You dont use the list...you use code and FM1...I never got that response. Always says Submitted/In process

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm sorry but I still don't understand. I could not find any other options to use but their drop down menu. Where do I put the code FM1.

You dont select from the drop down. You click the radio button that says use manufacturer code instead and enter FM1. It will then pre-popule with "Form 1" then you select silencer, SBS, SBR, etc.

Okay. I understand now! I thought it was a code for a manufacturer already in their data base.

Fucking government. It would have been nice if they explain that.

So what do I do now?

Its widely known and all over the net that's how you submit a form 1. Right on QB website as well

sorry had a blast picking on my father I got 3 guns and it took him a whole month to get a single one . good luck hope its fast for you

Log in and try it

I tried to revise it and it would not let me do it.

I did see where they attached the cover letter to the application. However, the bar code was not complete. I other words, there was no number underneath the bar code. It was just a few lines on the bar code.

I also saw that a control number had not be applied to the cover letter.

My weekend is ruined now that I have to agonize over straightening this mess up.

You didn’t screw anything up. Take a deep breath!

As stated, it is under Research because it is not a known manufacture. If you were building an SBR, say off a Spikes Tactical Lower, their name would be in their database and as soon as you submit, you would get your cover letter for your prints. Since you are building your own suppressor for the first time, your name/trust name is new and it will be in Research status for a weeks time, give or take. Once it goes to Submitted, you will receive your cover letter via email.

I did my first suppressor Form 1 back in November and the same thing.. Research status, took a week before the codes came.

I just submitted another Form 1 last night, this time an SBR using a Spikes Lower. Again, in their database and it went to Submitted right away and emailed me my cover letter.

Next week, it will arrive. Your 10 days time frame to get the prints out doesn’t start until you receive your cover letter.

So again, Research Status, no prints. Submitted Status, you will get the prints.

Go drink a beer and agonize over the Coronavirus, instead.

Mine should be coming soon. I submitted my second QB on 2/4. I put my self down as the manufacture on my .22 QB that cover letter took nearly 1 week to get. Then I did the QB 45 and I think I submitted it on a Tuesday and right after the outage on Wednesday my cover letter got pushed. It was super weird. I submitted scanned and printed prints on this second one, waiting to see if they accept them.

I used the Passport Photo App for the iphone. It was idiot proof and produced a 2" X 2" photo. I took a selfie with the phone with a white wall in the background. After modifying the photo in the app, I emailed it to myself then uploaded it to the eform 1.

I guess they thought the photo met their standards as the application was accepted and they sent me the cover letter. So, wait and see.

I believe hes talking about finger prints not picture..... I take picture on white wall too. It just has to meet passport photo size requirements which is 2"x2".

My eform1 for the 45 quietbore was approved today. With the scanned and printed prints :).

Last 4 days eFile keeps crashing. Every time I get half way through my form 1 the system crashes. Fucking annoying.

Are you using Chrome? If so that might be causing you problems.

Don’t ask me how I know that. Use internet explorer.

I used USPS insured signature required flat rate cardboard envelope to mail in my prints on Monday. Scheduled delivery today by 8pm. No update that it was delivered when I track it. Just says “out for delivery by end of day today”.

wtf do I do now

Check the tracking number again tomorrow?
I'm no expert. I have two approved F1s by e-filing. I never sent by signature required because I didn't know if there was anyone to sign for my package.

I'm not sure why you're worried about when your prints arrive??

Just send them in with the cover letter and wait. My e-form was updated on the eforms website to "in progress", and then 3 weeks later it was good to go

"Out for delivery" is a good sign. You need to start worrying when it says "your package is moving through the USPS network to the next facility" after the delivery date. That's a fancy way of saying your stuff is lost in their abyss.

I've had 3 separate pieces of mail go missing in the last couple of weeks with USPS. Two items sent to me, and one that I sent to the ATF containing my fingerprint cards for a form 1.

Well I’m wondering if I shouldn’t have requested a signature. Wonder what happens if nobody is there to sign for it. Would it get returned to me? I asked for signature just to make sure they received them

They do sign for them and you will get the card back in the mail as a receipt. It just takes time.
