People "paid into it" were legally just giving the government a gift in return for the government's promise to tax someone in the future to try to give them some benefits of whatever the government decides it can afford to give.
As per Supreme Court ruling. It's a tax and the government technically has no legal obligation to pay.
There is NO actual money in the SS fund. "Their money" was spent by the politicians long ago.
Any money used for SS is technically somebody else's tax money that is being taken and redistributed to someone else, with the hopeful promise that eventually the person taxed will be the recipient of redistributed money from a future

I agree with most of what you are saying other than I don’t trust the WHO. It is corrupted. I do not trust the media or any/all governmental agency foreign or domestic or any person that works for them.
Wow, we've come a long ways since Sarah Palin screaming about "death panels" a decade ago. It's ok if you don't remember, because you were probably still in preschool at that time.
If you really want to save money, letting every old person die a few years earlier would save a couple trillion dollars every year, coronavirus notwithstanding. It'd be an easy 10% GDP boost. If you think that's a good idea, feel free to run it up the flagpole and see how well it goes over.

I hauled my ass out of bed every fucking day at 5:30 for 47 years and counting and worked and saved and paid my taxes and my SS and my Medicare. Never broke any laws (I don't even speed) and been married to the same woman for 41 years. And it'd be just fine to let me die because...well, the money you know?
If we'd just terminate everyone over 70 we'd save trillions in health care costs alone that way there would be plenty for the younger ones who think they have earned what I have earned in 1/3rd the time. Not fair, is it?

I simply believe that mass panic could kill many many more people than covid-19.
The elderly are at high risk during this outbreak, but they will be at even greater risk if their are riots and mass panic.
We have to accept that there will be some COVID-19 fatalities in the US.

Any Christian would say medical attention should be given to an infant over an octogenarian.
We need to stay calm and prepare in a sober manner while accepting that some people are going to die.

What if the octogenarian had skills and knowledge that was very useful to society & they just needed to get a bit better from their flu to get back to work?
What if the infant was going to need more medical care in the future, or since they are so young and not yet of value to society, more babies can be made?
When you start wanting to play who you want to let live and die on arbitrary factors, it gets pretty interesting very quickly and you might not like where you yourself wind up on the list.

I know several people over the years that caught something viral that ended up dead from pneumonia. Young, middle aged, and old. The deciding factor was not going to a doctor for a simple fucking exam. One kid in his 20s died on a life flight. If he had sought help one day earlier he may still be alive. People just lay there suffering and they don't realize they are fucking dying.

When premiums and co-pays go up for the working class this is the choices that have to be made unfortunately. After Obamacare, many people have no co-pays. They must pay out of pocket until there high deductible is met. Just going to the Dr. and getting tested for strep throat is an $80 visit plus $250 strep test. This is a lot of money for people trying to make ends meet. No wonder they dont go. Now the non payers get full access at no or very little cost. These are exactly the people that should be the ones without healthcare and not the ones subsidizing it. Sick

However what they forget is that human society actually started significantly advancing when people started living a bit longer and the younger generation could count on the help, experience and resourcefulness of the 40 and 50 year olds.

Well, my $3B employer just restricted all non-essential travel because of this damn media hysteria... a week before the largest Industrial Expo held just every 3 years. We have $100K in costs, flushed down the toilet, and I can't go visit customers for the next 2 months, at least.
