Whitmer just banned fruit and vegetables seeds and plants.

Let's try to climb over the enclosure fence where the grizzly bears are sleeping... What can go wrong?

Yeah this would be one of those 'dont care' things. Not that I dont care they're 'banned', but as in, I dont care you banned them.

Start a garden and collect seeds. Order seeds online. Get seeds from people who grow fruit/vegetables.

If some dildo in gov says you don't need something, its telling you to get them.

Dammit, she didn't "ban seeds and plants". Stores larger than 50,000 sq. ft. can't sell certain types of items, and "gardening supplies" are on this list along with paint, carpet, and some other bullshit. One can still wander down to the local small hardware store and buy seeds and supplies, and possession is certainly not affected.

It's a boneheaded move (particularly since garden departments aren't exactly the most crowded areas in April) in a series of boneheaded move by this governor's office, but the OP's thread title is deeply misleading.

No shit?

BULLSHIT. Explain to me then, why my brother had to run to the hardware store in rhinelander, wi, to buy seeds for his co-worker (who lives in the U.P.) because his co worker couldnt buy them in the UP. I’ll wait......

Garden centers might not be the hotspot in Detroit this time of year.
Maybe Der Frauline is getting her info from snowbirds.
The garden centers here in FL are packed and I mean loaded with people.

The motorized boat ban was bad enough. This one is worse.

Fuck if I know where your brother in law is doing his shopping. Small stores in the UP may not have seeds because they are a loonnnggg way away from planting season. Hardware stores are still probably set up for selling snow shovels and rock salt.

He's also probably the only Yooper that doesn't already have 20 years of seed tucked away in the polebarn. It's usually the shelf above the lifetime supply of chainsaw bar oil.

It is a massively fucked up rule, however. There is a terrific garden store around here that is going to start losing business opportunities if the order is extended any longer, and the prohibited sections aren't exactly a hotbed of social congregation under any circumstances.

what i know for sure, is the guy can’t get seeds there. and i also know, the governer has no fucking business saying it is illegal, “let it be written, let it be done’’.....what happened to the legislators writing laws and the normal legal process?

this is fucked up to the 100th degree. This shit is out of fucking control and they better yank the leash real quick.

The good news is i am seeing national stories focusing on this. Maybe it’ll work to our favor...give them a chance to show how they’ll be if given half a chance.

I'll look on the positive side of this. If the pubics could get their act together and they themselves be Constitutional, these acts by MI, MS, KY (et al) governors would make fantastic campaign "ammo." I saw Jim DeMint on TV and he (as I too) am shocked how easily people just gave up their rights. Prime example is these forced church shutdowns.

You know, with a lot of these blatantly tyrannical and unconstitutional orders, folks just need to say, “Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.” And just drive on with living like a free person.

What are they going to do? Arrest you or shoot you for buying seeds?

I posted this a while ago. It keeps getting more relevant. Per the DOJ website:

The people who put up with that shit, well.....
Everything goes full circle, hers is enroute. In time, in time, somebody/bodies hopefully grow a set and take the neccessary steps to remove that menace to COTUS.

Sign the petition, encourage everyone to sign it. Get active... dont sit and take the shit sandwich shes shoving down throats.

Who is the "they" that needs to yank the leash? That would be our state legislature. Both chambers are controlled by the Republicans. What have they done with their considerable power? Best that I can tell, they have made some Twitter posts and issued some milquetoast statements to the press:

Great leadership, guys.

Haven't heard much about any legal challenges filed in the court system, either.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story stated Governor Whitmer's Executive Order banned the sale of fruit and vegetable plants. That is not correct, but it is how all the retail outlets we contacted have interpreted the Executive Order.

Legislators and the citizenry. Recall her ass. And recall the weaksauce republicants that have sat on their hands.

I agree. But we won't do a thing about those legislators. They'll throw us a bone when they finally muster up the courage to take session again - maybe late July, if it doesn't interfere with previously-schedule vacations - and we'll have mostly forgotten about their malfeasance by the time November rolls around (or will come up with some weak-sauce excuse as to why we're going to hold our nose and vote for them). Sound about right?

It's now a class 1 felony to force your children to eat their fruits and vegetables now the sale of them is banned. A tip line is being set up for children to report their parents for such atrocious behavior.
