Isn't the dogleg in the butt-plate extension going to act as a cantilever and promote muzzle flip at the shot?

Hi,

I suppose if you lowered the recoil pad to its' lowest setting in which would put the rear section of the chassis significantly above your shoulder then the rifle may be induced to flip.
But being the recoil pad is adjustable in not only vertical adjustment but horizontally angled also..it is quiet easy to get proper alignment without inducing rifle flip.

we need hoplite patches that say:

high speed-high drag

only good for HALO so it slows the free fall

not so much for hydrodynamics it will slow down the Navy Seal Delivery vehicle

all joking aside i like the edges/joints/creases on stocks or chassis

i find it easier to find the exact same position of my fingers and such by remembering what angle is where...might just be me though
You mean one of these? 😎

Hi,

So in the continuation of T&E phases we have ultimately decided on the following firing pin specifications for the Kopis and Aspis Models...

.062" firing pin tip with a .063 firing pin hole in boltface.

Also been messing around with larger level in the scope mounts...

my current rifles have large firing pin so im out of the loop on SFP (thats why i started a thread a while ago)

is .062 pin and .063 pin hole enough clearance for dirt and debris??

these arent bench guns

Hi,

@brianf

We utilize a Lesjofors #6086 spring for our firing pin spring. The #6086 operates at 151 Newton Meters (111 ft/lbs) spring force {We also have a 125 ft/lbs version of the Lesjofors spring}. So we purposely have the spring force to pretty much self clear any dirt/debris. Along with the way the firing pin system itself rides in the bolt via bayonet and rear bushing in the bolt it pretty much keeps the firing pin centered.

What is a typical spring force (just say a rem 700) and how did you guys come up with that higher number your using?

I'm assuming in addition to that you are doing the old Finnish test of spray it down with water, stick it in the freezer, then pull it out of the freezer and try to shoot it?

Hi,

Well it appears that only the Bossman shows up to the shop on Saturdays so you all get another edition of "Theis cannot video worth a shit, lol"....

Disclaimer....Might be 2 minutes of your life that you cannot get back, lolol.....
Back into the freezer for second take Monday when I can pull an extra person to help me.

Now on the bright side....the new chassis design will allow us to bond/glue the action into it and still allow us to access/remove the trigger without having to take action out of chassis.

Hi,

LOLOL. That is the first time I have ever heard "not here to fuck spiders and release trash" but it is even funnier because your an Aussie and you all have some crazy fucking 🕷.

Now onto business for your side of the world.
We are already in communication with a local outfit over there that specializes in precision rifles and are looking forward to meeting with them shortly.

Theis

Worse than :

throwing a action on cement
Hitting with hammer
Slamming with rock

just leave it in the woods overnight In Australia

if it comes back in one piece or even comes back at all you have a winner!!!

Hi,
"Not here to fuck spiders" is a semi common saying down here

Yes we have some interesting wildlife with some quite venomous.
If you want some testing done in Australia,
I think all the Aussie's on here will be happy to put their hand up✋

Hi,

My E-friend @rydah has/is working on a fantastic facility that would work fantastic for our inaugural Aussie Meet & Greet exhibition.

@THEIS love the hammer portion of the videos.
You might not want to consider a career as a roofer or framer.
Just sayin. 😁

Hi,

I think that would be called a HARD PASS, lol!!!

Might be time ti get a voulenteered/conscripted/shangheid chassis and put the two through a frozen test to see if you can get the bolt to cycle and hammer to drop in a simulated freezing mist/wind. More leverage that way to hole the action while cycling.

Hi,

Well it is not looking good for the ol recruit!! This morning during a scheduled wellness check, the Doc found the first crack in its' armor...think the ol gal may be close to a DOR.
Doc found a chip on the delrin bolt knob cover.
Next evolution is the mud pit, so we shall see what happens......

Edited To Add: That is a firing pin from Shot Show so the tip was ground down to be in expo compliance.

Theis, what finish is on, or now *partially* on, the poor test subject/recruit? I may have missed it but saw earlier you had settled on some of Birdsong’s coatings.

@THEIS

Any progress on the high pressure cartridges?

Hi,

YEP, the .585 boltface cartridges for both the Kopis (Short action if you will) and the Aspis (Large magnum action if you will) should be ready to release pretty much at same time we release the production rifles....maybe...that all depends on NTS for our independent destruction testing and analysis.

My favorite is the 7mm variants :)

This gun has my attention. It has several features i always wonder why weren't on rifles. The flat bottom being the main one. Also the firing pin that can't stay out love it. It definitely function over form though, to say the least.
