KAC SR25 challenge!!!

Nope, 1911,M9, and shotgun for the most part. 3 years of chaff launchers, Stinger missles, Mk19 Mod 3, M2, and Mk96 (? Stabilized Mount for 25 mm and M2).

Very impressive (surface warfare?) but I was talking about issued weapons. Don’t worry, I am appropriately impressed.

Some of it was fun, I wouldn't say impressive but educational. Surface Electronic's Technician, spent 3 years working with Gunner's Mates commissioning PC's. Almost cross rated to GM but ET was more marketable. Weapons issue was limited to watch standing, ship's self defense force, assisted with some training for watch sanders and new shooters for marksmanship teams but never SAMI or Operational SpecWar. 1911, M9, for Watches including Security, those or shotgun for SSDF. (I want to say we had both Mossberg 500' and Remington 870's on board but that was 30 years ago.) Bad part is my Rifle quals were all from Competition.

I’ve read all 8 pages of this. Gross. I am not military, and anybody who wears a uniform is a hero in my booK. Hearing myself classified as “worthless civilian” is not cool though. Civilians paid the taxes that funded the R&D and purchase of these weapons, as well as the training to use them. There’d be no SR25 to lust after were it not for the taxpayer.

Secondly, one putting a roof over his family's head, educating his children, and saving for their future, is not a “poor”. He is a man, and worthy of respect. Making fun of somebody because he can’t afford or has better sense than to buy the toys you buy is the mark of a child, not a man. Money cannot make a man.

Are you a millennial per chance?

Oh OK.

Most of this forum is people giving other people the business. Don't take it so seriously. (IMO of course)

Yeah I know and I’m all for it in general, and a lot of it I thought was funny. I just get set off by people who go beyond joking about the outrageous cost of our toys and move to ridicule others without the blessing of the same disposable income. If a guy works hard, and a Savage with an Athlon is all he can afford, but he honors his responsibilities as the head of his family, why should he be made fun of for doing the best he can? It just strikes me as very petty.

Do you shoot a Savage and Athlon?

Disposable income isn't a blessing-along with all the choices that impact disposable income. You sound like a liberal wanting mass mediocrity. Do better.

You mean he's "blessed" and I'm not?
Not at all......just anyone saying with any amount of disposable income should be thankful.

Do I believe in hard work = ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Do I think cast1 is a liberal based on his comment above ......nope and I don't know him other than the post he just made.

Do I want mass mediocrity via handouts = hell no

Do I believe everyone having the same rights = yes

Do I believe everyone is the same = no (I literally do not posses the capabilities to work on the team sending objects to the planet Mars, nor do I possess the capabilites to be a professional athlete.......and no matter how bad I want either or how hard I work at either........neither will ever happen.) I wasn't born those attributes but I don't deserve them just because I was born and don't deserve a spot on those teams unless I EARN it. Participation trophies beyond the age of about 3 years old create weakness if you ask me.

I truly encourage everyone to watch the interviews with Nick and Mike. Those are some solid dudes and they've been through some serious shit. I watched those months before this thread even started. Give them an honest watch I garauntee every person who watches those will come away a better person and learn some things. One thing that REALLY stands out in my mind and left an significant impression was a TOTALLY STAND UP MOVE by one of the top guys at KAC ( I believe Reed) towards Nick. Nick had transitioned out of active status and was living in Vegas and was in a rough spot. Nick ran into Reed (maybe at SHOT or something) and they got to chatting. Reed paid some of Nick's bills for the month to help him get by and say thanks for serving.

@bigjake83 At 1:50, you can see my brother using his issued SR25 to whack an insurgent in Fallujah. He killed a lot of them there, loved his SR25.

From my brother's award writeup:

Later that day, Corporal Shepperson occupied an overwatch position from which he could support the Company with precision fires and achieve a commanding position from which to coordinate, direct, control, and adjust supporting indirect fires. As the Company reached Main Supply Route (MSR) Elizabeth, they were ambushed and pinned down by enemy RPG, sniper, and mortar fire. Despite being under direct RPG, and small arms fire, and proximity mortar fire, Corporal Shepperson identified an enemy sniper firing from a mosque 450 meters from his position. With a skillfully placed shot to the head from his SR-25 sniper rifle, Corporal Shepperson eliminated the sniper threat, directly contributing to the platoon's ability to medically evacuate casualties, reorganize, and continue its offensive clearing operations south.

From my brother's award writeup:

That's fucking awesome!!!

He loved that SR25, made good use of it in Fallujah.

I'd be proud to shake your brothers hand, 2004 was a bad year for Fallujah. I was attached to a Amphibious Assault Group in 04 and I remember the the stories from all the Marines that had just returned.

I don’t shoot a savage at the moment but have before and would again. I own a couple athlons now.

I work 50-60 hours a week at a high performing occupation. Nobody has ever had to tell me to “do better”. I am not a liberal and I am not a “poor” but I am “blessed”. A man should work hard and want to achieve, but who gave you a healthy body and a strong mind to achieve with?

I can and do shoot whatever I feel like, but I would NEVER shame somebody for bringing the best they can afford to the sport I love. Savage, mossberg, Stoeger, Charles Daly, whatever, let’s just have some fun and hang out.

OMG! Are those Butler Creek caps on those high dollar scopes? Only Poors use those.

* Total sarcasm by the way. You have a nice arsenal going there. Definitely puts mine to shame.

What kind of velocity were you getting out of it? Looks like it is a shooter!
Nevermind, scrolled right over it. Looks like really good velocity, I'm only getting 2778fps out of my 26" GAP rifle, but I don't like to push it to the edge with my reloads.
