Tikka T3 Thread

I applaud your decision.

A .308 will never let you allow yourself a man bun, capris, or v-necks.

Post your usual excellent pictures when you receive & install the Ensio.

What twist/length are you getting?

Yeah, oldschool rocks :)
It´s the factory ctr barrel i send to the guys.
Straight fluting and matt blued after the gun smith job.
I sure will send some shots, after i receive it from the Ensi Firearms

Does anyone have a line on Sterk bolt handles? Alternatives? I'm having a little difficulty finding them in stock. I was working the rifle, just trying to get used to how it handles, and it occurred to me that it would be nice if the bolt knob were swept back just a bit.

Best to order directly from Sterk. He will chime in with info. Well worth the wait. But if that’s not possible Anarchy Outdoors has a larger swept back handle as well for the Tikkas. Less subtle. I think for use in winter with thick gloves or for a large paw mammal it may be a good fit.

The last lot was done in March, the next lot is in production right now, so shouldn't be long.

if I go with a pure chassis, this would be my pick. Seems to be really light comparable and I do like the looks. However I found that my ARs get freezing in during winter coyote hunts and would like to stay away from the metal. Maybe for another build

There are some other stocks here that you might consider:

A lot of these will be a tad heavier than your retail CTR stock but a bit lighter than the KRG Bravo. The iota Kremlin for example, is 2.5 lb with option for a CTR inlet.

You misunderstand. .308 is now vintage, like vinyl, manual transitions, and pour over coffee. 6.5 creed is way too mainstream these days. .308 is now manbun central.

Question for you Tikka T3X CTR 20" owners with KRG Bravo chassis. What is the overall length from barrel to buttpad? I'm asking to get an idea of the smallest soft case I can get away with.

Are you running a brake or a suppressor mount ?

40" with all the spacers in the stock.

Re the measurment of the Bravo and CTR. I have the Varmint model with the 23 3/4" barrel and subtracked 3 3/4" to get 40". I got to thinking the CTR has a flash hider? If so add the length of the muzzle device to the 40"! Sorry about that.

The CTR has no muzzle device. Just threads and a protector. I needed the dimensions to find a somewhat discreet case to carry to and from my vehicle as I now live in an apartment.

I've got s soft side Fender guitar case that is 44 inches long that would be stealthy. Mine came with my Strat but they have got to be cheap on their own.

Nice 👌🏻

Guys using the KRG Bravo... is the cheek piece knob removeable? I’m a lefty, wondering how (or if) that would interfere with my face.
Also, anybody recently do a LH conversion on a Bravo?

How presumptuous and privileged of you? How do you know it's not your face that's interfering with the knob?

JK I have no idea 😂

CTR has a threaded muzzle & thread protector, the Tac A1 has a muzzle brake.
You’re not far off.

All it needs now it needs a sponge camo paint job on the stock...

Tikka T3x Tac A1 - 6.5 Creedmoor, Yodave trigger spring, Razor G2 4.5-27 EBR2C, Spuhr SP-4902 30moa mount, MDT muzzle break, grip, weights, Sterk swept bolt knob, Atlas PRS bipod, GRS bagrider.

Love shooting this thing. Reached out to 1200 yards with it so far. On a good day I’ve gone 5 for 5 on a 4”x4” plate at 700 yards.

Alright tikka guys. Put my factory action to the test at the Steel Safari in Logan NM this weekend. Three days in 100 degree heat with caliche dust blowing in the 15-30 mph winds. I’ve been there on three previous occasions, all with triggertech triggers. On the night of the second day, cleaning up the bolt and chamber, noticed the trigger had turned into a 5-6 pound affair. Luckily I had a spare, pulled the barreled action out of the krg and swapped them out. I have not cleaned up the original trigger yet but it has me a bit worried. I have shot quite a few Timneys in the past with great luck and durability. Looking for some input on that line of thinking. Tried the Midas and did not like it. I need something I can trust or it’s on to something R700 compatible

Removable, sure, but the cheek piece will float. The hole for the screw the knob tightens is not a through-hole so you cannot put the knob on the other side. You should be able to flip the hardware with a nut inside the stock to make it somewhat alan key adjustable.

Over the last couple years now we've had multiple (hundreds, thousands maybe) requests from the Tikka crowd to answer the need for two things:

1. Sort out the ability to alter the bolt face on the T3.
2. Offer OEM quality T3 replacement bolts.

Well....that box is now being checked. A big ol truckload of steel is due to be delivered very soon so that the production growing pains can be sorted out. The bulk of the engineering work is already done.

So, I hope you all were serious cause they are coming!

Shortened the factory 24”6.5 CM barrel to 18.5” and installed an Anarchy Emperor Penguin grip.

How does she shoot with the 18,5"
I did that same to my son 223rem, it was once a TAC A1 with 24" barrel.
Now she is is 18" and sits on a KRG Bravo chassis.
Had to change the loads, now it shoots very well with 52gr Nosler CC.

Chad,

For us lay people what does that mean for users of lets say a Tikka T3 lite in 7 mag, or a 270?

Is this a factory trigger or a Timney that you had trouble with?

Can a 2 stage trigger be put in? If yes, how much hassle?

after much debating and searching. I found a deal today I couldn’t pass up a 24” T3X CTR stainless for $952.00 out the door...bought it on the spot... I am a huge fan of my T1x and I figured now I’d have a full size to match my .22... I see that brownells have KRG stocks and KRG as well but I’m trying to buy a pair of bravos one for each... does anyone know if they ever go on sale (I know they’re a good deal, but I like to try to make my money stretch as far as possible)?

Monitor the PX. They come up for sale quite often.
