Another idea would be to grab a Euro Optic Demo AXSA for ~$4600-5300. Mine showed up as new and was $2500 less than a non-demo new one...

Thanks and I agree, great option. I just saw those on both Euro and Mile High.

I sadly didn’t get any pics as I was busy ROing the match. But I just got home from the guardian match at arena. And I saw several AIs in the comp. there was one I should of got a photo of that was being shot by some military guys. Definitely had some stuff different that I have never seen before. And he knew absolutely nothing about the rifle when I started asking questions.

Did it look like current or older gen rifle with modifications? Or something completely new?

It was a AX. But the scope rail had a bubble level built into it. It protruded back a little over the bolt shroud but it was completely built into the rail.
And the forend was a mlock with arca. Identical to the new asr. It was not the victor company one. And it wasn’t a ASR or the new AXSA

The shooter claimed it was. AI staff members rifle.

Yeah, I've seen those. I think the bubble level scope rail was made for the Maverick 41 rifle, and some of the team guys had prototype forends before the ASR was public.

I was there shooting my AX and I talked to him. He did say it belonged to a friend and he was borrowing it for the match. It was an AXSA with the ASR handguard.

Man these AI’s just make a shooter look good. Never shot anything past 400yds until the other day. Put a 8” gong out at 700y. Cold bore impact with 130gr Berger factory load. Almost couldn’t believe it myself. 4.5-4.6mils has a couple low misses but I’m stoked. Need to stretch her out further....

Definitely the wrong thread to ask this question as everyone on here loves their AI's but here it goes nonetheless. Have any of you AXMC owners that use theirs for multiple calibers regretted your purchase for any reason? I ask this because every couple of years I look in my safe and see rifles with overlapped purposes. Most of these are hunting builds in different calibers, but all can kill animals just as dead as the other. I'm thinking about slimming down the hunting side in favor of a more "practical" AXMC multi cal setup. So, AXMC owners, any regrets? (que "no ragrets" meme)

Only thing about AI in general is that they aren’t mountain sheep rifles.

Yes they can do it but why hump 10 pounds more than you have to.

If you a walk 2 miles to a tree stand kind of hunter...Keep your 2 most favorite “other” rifles and buy a AX

With the ability to change cartridges you’ll soon find yourself buying barrels and trying different things, just because.

I guess I didn’t explain myself very well in my previous post. I’m wanting to turn a hunting rifle or two into an axmc which I will mostly shoot at steel or paper with the occasional hunt. I have hunting rifles for most all game except the really dangerous type.

The allure of the caliber changes, has won me over. I listed one of my rifles for trade a little while ago. Once I get an MC I’ll likely sell my AT to fund a TT or ZCO for the MC.

First post from new member/long time lurker. Just got my new AI AX308 with Zero Compromise 5x27 with Spuhr 6602 (6 mil cant). Want to first thank Mike at Mile High who hooked me up with the demo deal. Mike even mounted the scope in the Spuhr before shipping! I was originally going to buy a AT and then swap some scopes around for a while. Instead, I got a much more full featured rifle with scope and mount ready to go, and at a great discount.
I’d also like to thank all the SH members who have contributed to my education over the years. There were countless threads and posts that have led me to this moment. So thank you.
Much remains to be done on the rifle: I have to properly set up the scope and stock positions, tighten it all down, dismount and then mount a TBAC muzzle brake (have a date with a heat gun-the joys of red Loctite!) and Ultra 9. Have to purchase a bore guide so I can take proper care of my rifle and clean it. Then I get to shoot it!
Again, thanks to all

Thanks Badfinger. Yes, it is an addiction; I am already figuring out how to swing a 6.5 barrel and lusting for a magnum AX!

My first AI. Am I one of the cool kids yet?

I also took up Mile High on one of their demo AX package deals. 20" 308 in pale brown, ZCO 5-27 MPCT2, Spuhr 6602. Once I decide on a 6mm caliber, I'll be getting another barrel spun up.

New guy question, but will AW magazines function in these or will they only take AXSA mags?

Yeah, Mike will get you as will Paul! All kidding aside first rate people at Mile High. Just count your blessings you don't live 10 minutes from them like I do, seriously expensive.
Was laughing this afternoon with and quoting you to my wife; she’s ecstatic I live down south, well away from Mile High! She’s a good girl, a Latina from Panama, has an appreciation for us Gringos who like guns and gear.

Shot the AXMC 338 Norma Magnum today. Used a box of factory Norma 300 PH to brake it in. First time using the Tangent, unbelievable optic. Has to be the best I've ever used. This was the last group of 3 I shot, after this I noticed the Forend worked it self loose. Mild recoil for a 338.

A bit of match prep this morning with @Huskydriver

@kocustoms couldn't take take a minute from dealing guns to join... Man's devoted. View attachment 7349751
So I have to ask (and please excuse the new guy ignorance): what is that wire with a bulb at the end sticking up from the far side of your scope? I won’t even insult your intelligence with all the crazy theories I’ve come up with!

It's just the loose ends of his data card holder. He just hasn't flipped it into position yet and attached his data card

Thanks. That was actually one of my first guesses. Most of my other guesses were pure nonsense! (like some kind of antenna, lol)

Very nice!

I also have the TT525P, very nice optic indeed! Did you get the Gen3 XR reticle?
What model ERA-TAC mount did you use?

Thanks

It's a Gen 2 XR Reticle. The ERA-TAC is T2064-0025, 0-70 adjustable 1.65 inches.

@NoLegs24 Hey man, excellent work at the shoot! I saw the pics on instagram... Great stuff!! Do you have any more pics?

I don’t have much. I tend to forget to take pics when I compete lol

Shooting an 1158y mover when average speeds is 30mph, with swings upwards of 40mph is uhm.... interesting

Hilltop was no joke. Guys recorded speeds of up to 60mph

Put that ASR to work these past few days at the Nightforce ELR Steel Challenge. Man, the talent that came out to shoot this match was unreal

how did it do (despite conditions)? You can’t give us bread with no butter man
Edit: I just saw your other post. Hard to measure things in hurricane force winds haha

50mph winds... That's offensive :ROFLMAO:
How much wind were you holding at those ranges?

ELR is something I haven't dabbled in... Really good to see the ASR out there so soon, notching up wins.

You guys are making me thirsting to grab an AXMC in sage green. I'm going to save up and grab one at the end of the year, when they will probably start phasing them out.

Congrats!
What bag rider is that?
