I’ve been playing with the Warner Tool 160gr bullets in my Sako TRG-42.
I noticed I had a bit of copper in the barrel, as my patches were not coming out cleanly (without blue/green),
The barrel has ~800 rounds on it, and I decided to scope it to see what the deal is.
Interestingly, the first several inches near to throat look like cracked skin (but in steel). There is some light copper build up I need to clean out, but nothing really interest.
Otherwise, the barrel doesn’t look bad, and it shoots in the same hole at 100.
What causes that very fine crackeling in the steel? (I shoot suppressed exclusively.)
