Tried to zero my 308 today. It bottoms out and is on at 5 mils above the center of the cross hair. Home built R700 with Warne 20 MOA base, Warne medium horizontal split rings. Leupold VX3I long range 4.5-14 FFP scope with TMR reticle. I had the scope set up similarly on a Sako A7 and had no issues like this. I noticed the barrel managed to touchthe stock when I had it on a sandbag, but that shouldn't cause this problem right? Just other problems until I sand it out.

The scope is trashed and you need to get rid of it. It’ll give you nothing but bad memories. Fear not because I’m willing to give you one crisp hundred dollar bill so it’s not a total loss. 🧐

It’s a Leupold, I wouldn’t bother unless you have a fudd up to pay top dollar for it saying “it’s just as good”

Leupold’s aren’t too bad. They had a colt like following at one time and made some good stuff back in the day. I don’t think their new stuff is as good as even the cheap vortex scopes that cost half as much. Just my humble opinion
