Guys,

I'm looking to get an ACOG for my carbine. I've narrow it down to two options. However, I can't figure out what the difference is between these two sku's (TA31RCO-M4CP vs TA31RCO-M150). What's the difference? The specs seem to read identical. What am I missing?

AFIK the M4CP is/was the USMC spec and the M150 is the Army spec. They're pretty much the same thing, and the difference is the included kit. The M150 comes with an additional objective cap.

That's what I was trying to figure out. Are they 100% identical only one comes with caps and the other with a scopecoat?

I assume so, but have no proof.

Out of curiosity, is there is a specific reason you want this particular model of ACOG as opposed to some of the other ones that are well suited towards non-mil use?

My father was an retired Army sniper and always collected military rifles/optics. I kindof do the same thing - mainly for the historical significance. I already have an AR with a red dot and another with an LPVO. For this one I thought an ACOG would be a good fit. Plus I tend to be hard on optics so anything designed to be 'grunt proof' is in my longterm best interest :)

I just wish their product descriptions on these things were clearer and more concise.

I have a new RCO I bought for a 14.5" Colt 6944 because it's calibrated for that barrel length and green tip. But then I don't shoot green tip much. I have mine zeroed at 100 like the Trijicon instruction book says you're supposed to. I have not taken it beyond 200 yet, but when I have a free day, I will experiment at 300, 400 & 500. I think it's a high quality optical gun sight and worth the market price. It works well enough at close ranges with both eyes open, but my brain keeps pushing my dominant eye to focus in the 4x scope. If you have corrected vision, you may need to find glasses with a wide segment for focusing on the reticle.
