I remember in the early -mid 1960’s , during deer season It was o.k. to bring your rifle to school and keep it in a gun rack. Life will never be like that again 😞

Could still do that in the 80's at my high school. Most trucks in the parking lot had a gun rack in the rear window, complete with shot gun or rifle depending on the season.

I took my Hunter's Safety Course in 1977 in my high school after classes. Even had live fire practice using 22 bolt action rifles on school property. Shotguns in the trunks of cars and in the back window rack of pickup trucks were very common.

Funny how there were NEVER any school shootings back then.

In the early 80's commonplace to see long guns in the high school parking lot. In the 70's we used to bring our long guns and store them in the principal's office. Picked them up as we left and did some hunting on the walk home. Those were the days....
