Identical stock for 2nd gun or not?

Hi,

Long time reader and lurker...love this place!

History: Shot 20 rds with a Savage 12FV 6.5, liked it so much got a Tikka CTR and just put it in a GRS Beserk. I have a T1x on the way.

Goal: To become a proficient shooter. Club has 50, 100, 200, 600 ranges, would like to be able to consistently hit targets at these ranges on first shot.

Q: What are the advantages of using a KRG Bravo instead of another GRS for the Tikka? I was thinking it would be good to NOT have all my time on one particular setup. I'm not training for the Olympics.

A lot of what we do is repetition. Keeping things as identical as possible helps you focus on the important stuff. Imagine jumping between MIL and MOA with every rifle or trying to locate a constantly changing cheek weld. Sure you can do it but do you want to?

There is some validity to not keeping things the same but that has less to do with the stock and more to do with shooting. Different distances, different locations, different positions.

That said, have fun if you can afford it. Maybe you will like the new stock better.

Its simple, if you want to be proficient, then practice consistency and get the same stock. if you want to have a cool assortment of guns then mix it up and go with KRG Bravo. I personally indulge in a motley assortment of cool guns, because I am a man toddler and recommend it to those who can afford to do it.

If you have solid/proper fundamentals, you don’t need everything the same.

Balance and triggers being similar will be the two most noticeable things that change how you run a rifle.

I prefer to keep things as similar as possible. I tend to do this more with handguns than I do long guns. Same mechanics, same mags, same holsters, same ammo... This way my kids won't fight over who gets what when I'm gone as well...they all will be the same

That looks like a pretty nice stock. I dunno much abut GRS in particular, though.

Is the stock good and rigid?

Is there any reason you want to go with a KRG chassis instead of this stock?

I just got a second to clone my RimX for centerfire. I want to make them as close to identical as possible.
