Exploring options for putting my CTR in a chassis and want to know if I picked up a used TAC chassis if my normal CTR will go in or if that barrel nut used in the chassis requires action modification. Reason is price, I like the MPA but it is 1K, if I could get a TAC chassis for half that be worth it.

Any idea what a used TAC chassis goes for?

Thanks

It's not a barrel nut, just looks like one. Doesn't actually contact the barrel (just chassis to handguard), no modification needed.

I've seen them go for around $600 a while back, but search is your friend.

For the OP, I put my CTR in a TAC a1 chassis that I bought off of members here on the hide. They drop right in with no issues at all. That sleeve that goes over the barrel to attach the handguard has about 1.2" of barrel clearance if I remember correctly. Fine chassis to use if you choose to do so.

Thanks, seriously considering picking one up. I like the TRG type mags (close to using the AW mags) a 10rd AICS mags is long. I have a stainless CTR and think it would look good in the black chassis.

I liked the Tac A1 chassis and mags when I used a friend's. I went with an AICS pattern chassis for my Tikka because I'm running a BR variant and wanted extended mags. The lack of BR kits and mag extensions is the only bummer about the CTR mags, but might be irrelevant based on how you use it.
