Knights Armament

Found a few good deals past few days. I was just trying to do a current price check on sr25 uppers. 3k bnib. Maybe not amazing but at least good.

If you really do want one & are not justflapping yer lips, call Chuck at Kelley's Ent. & if he hasn't got it right now, he'll likely get you one before most anyone else can & his price will be the lowest. He's a little particular, but still a good guy to deal with. He can have it dropped shipped directly from KAC when it's available.

Finding an upper in stock is the issue.

It's cyclical. A month ago, you couldn't find uppers, then Aero and BCM had huge blem sales. Now you can't find barrels. Stuff comes and goes based on production, just gotta wait I guess. I'm waiting on barrels.

BCM hasn't had an upper in stock for at least 6 weeks, still don't. I just got a barrel that I ordered the end of April a couple of weeks ago. Granted is was a "special".

RainierArms had assembled stripped BCM uppers a little over a week ago. Shortly after that, BCM had stripped blem uppers on their site for $60 each, I almost bought some. Keep an eye on Reddit's gundeals subreddit for in-stock alerts.

I check BCM's site daily......................I had bought a couple in April or May; Haven't seen any back in stock there for a good long while.

OK, thanks. Never used that site. I'm good for now but spares is always a good plan.

Feel free to message if you need help navigating it, it has a bit of a learning curve. If I see anything BCM pop up in stock I'll send you a message. I need an upper as well.

Knights denies this now. At least that is what one of their reps said that LMT does not make anything for them. From what I understand they did at one point and maybe still do and it is hush hush. Either way LMT is awesome. I have an 11.5 a 16" and a .308 and they are all great. My 11.5" shot a few 1- 1 1/4" groups just a few weeks ago with an Aimpoint and 3x mag. Plus you can swap the barrel in about one minute.
The receiver forgings and BCG (at least the pre-ambi ones) were made by LMT for KAC according to a lot of people that know better than I. I can't afford KAC so I go with LMT.

OMG-it's not a literal comparison  . Yeah it shoots bullets faster-exactly like a mustang GT500 is faster vs. a regular stock mustang. You can't possibly tell me that's what your're getting out of the comparison :ROFLMAO:?

Look man-I own BCM and I own KAC. My KACs (both SS and CL barrels) shoot smoother and much more accurate than my BCMs (both BFH and non-BFH, no SS). I paid ~$1k more for the KACs. I had my BCMs first and love(d) them but because the 200-400yd accuracy sucked I wanted better. I like Mil-Spec type ARs of which I consider both to be. You're not going to have an adjustable gas block on a Mil-Spec type AR. Do you want grunts in the field dicking with an AGB-of course not.

KAC gets to charge more because they've put a lot of work into improving and re-engineering things on the platform-they've earned that.

BTW-So does BCM. I'm not sure exactly what they make in house but they innovate and QC at high levels for which they've earned a reputation and can therefore charge more $$$.

BTW my PSA with FN CHF barrel shoots just as good and has been just as reliable as my BCMs with cost about twice as much.
I agree whole heartedly that lmt and Kac have done more to advance the platform than all others combined. I think Kac takes Lmt designs and adds their tweeks to make them even better and lighter. Both companies earn their price take because they are not just assemblers they engineer and make products better continuously. I know bcm makes quality rifles built on the shoulders of companies like Kac and lmt that innovated features like enhanced bolts, lmt and Kac, and quad 1913 rails, Kac. Heck the designer of the platform worked at Kac. So both of these companies working along with elite forces have the right to charge more for enhanced product that lets face it most people will never fully utilize. Proprietary parts are no big deal if the parts last twice as long as standard parts. At the end of the day it comes down to money. If I have the money I am buying Kac/ Lmt. If i don’t I am buying what I can.

KAC made/makes parts for LMT. LMT made/makes parts for KAC.

Doesn't mean much other than 2 high quality proven manufactures of combat rifles source from each other for certain things.

What your not going to see is them buying trash parts from trash companies like PSA, S&W, Springfield and the rest of the poverty guns.

Kelly's getting anything from KAC? Like Rifles, uppers or lowers? Any other KAC dealers getting anything? Or is it just Gunbroker?

What's the best barrel for a KAC Sr-15 LPR build? With KAC/LMT enhanced bolt or without. That you can get now? Any out there?

I would go with another hand lapped Krieger stainless like the original they make some of the best barrels in industry. But if you can’t or don’t want to go Krieger at least go with the 18 inch as that is what made it stand out as a precision rifle for Kac. Try to get the upper reciever to barrel fit as tight as you can as this aids in accuracy. Jp heats their receivers up before pressing barrel in.
Also the lprs have the .223 Wylde chamber so I would stick with that as well or another match .223 chamber like Noveske or cle.

They have KAC's own version of a "match" chamber that they call exactly that, & I've never seen the dimensions published, but it's not a true Wylde.

And the MOD 1 barrel contour is considerably heavier than the MOD 2 profile.

That said I am beyond the 1/2 way point on my Mod 1 barrel - I have to wonder if KAC is still going to have 'that' barrel when the time comes. If not, I assume(?) someone can remove the existing barrel extension (can I just get an SR15 E2 barrel extension?), get a primo replacement tube that otherwise has the same port placement and size, add extension, add new E2 bolt - easy peasy, right?

You should be able to harvest the BE for a new tube. KAC SHOULD be able to replace it, although it will be $$$.

You also shouldnt need a new bolt. E3 is indestructible.

Wonder if it is a copy of the Noveske chamber.

i agree Kac should be able to fit a replacement
