Worth a read https://www.wired.co.uk/article/lithium-batteries-environment-impact

Batteries are not the answer to the use of fossil fuels, in my opinion the answer is hydrogen.

I agree however hydrogen has several issues that could be a LONG way to being solved if 1/3 the money and time chasing this horrid battery idea was put to those issues. Holding it, and making it jump to mind. It is my view that countries with a vast over supply of energy would be top producers of hydrogen in the future....think Iceland and all that geothermal.

Oh well I doubt I will live to see it, but I did bookmark the battery article....another point I have been known to bring up to these battery loving people is if you love the planet so much why do you ass rape it for lithium?

Missing the rear sight
Not fitted with the 15rd mag that Harmer carried in real life
Ammo belt instead of stripper clips

I know there is a lot of....questions...around that rifle. The one in the ranger museum could not be the same he used in the B&C shootout. For one thing it is an 81 IIRC, and has a SN# that dates it after the shooting. Some have also questioned if it did have the extended mag....something that at the time would have been made not far from me in St. Joe Missouri. One of the things you need to know about Hamer was he was a promoter.

I get the same feeling watching the Presidential debates as I do when I think about Telegraph Stations and hitching posts. They’re full of a certain nostalgia that harkens back to a simpler time but so completely unnecessary in the modern world. If you didn’t already have your mind made up for the last 4 years who you were going to vote for, then please for the love of God and all that is Holy, do not vote.

I haven't watched debates in decades. I just cannot stomach hearing politicians talk. I'd rather read what the spinmasters say they said the next morning. Good entertainment.

Really, not the same game! You don't say....
People running around burning cities, threatening people eating their dinners, attacking people who disagree with them- and they are all walking free. This lady gets tazed for actually following the rules. No mask needed for sports events when spacing is over 6 feet. That is the published rule in Ohio. I am not anti-mask at all, I wear mine more than prescribed- but rules are rules. That this cop was ignorant of them doesn't absolve him.
She was arrested for trespass, not wearing a mask was why she was asked to leave.

You can’t fix stoopid.

That is exactly what "hoist by his own petard" means... When disagreeable people are doing/saying stupid shit like that, I do not bother correcting them or displaying any reaction that may make them aware that they fucked up. If that NBA guy had been an acquaintance of mine when he posted that, I would have went "Oh yeah, I feel ya' bro... If you need help moving or doing the paperwork at the embassy and applying for whatever, hit me up, all right?"

A lot of hydrogen sold for cars in CA comes from cracking methane.
Why not run CNG aka methane for the cars?

you can also make hydrogen from salt water separation with DC current.
So you can take 100 units of electricity
Run electrodes in salt water
One electrode makes chlorine gas and the other hydrogen

you 100 units of electricity generates 40 units of hydrogen

the 40 units are then transported
Added to a pump system
Pumped into a Hydrogen cell in a car

the hydrogen cell then makes25-35 units of electricity

Crazy waste of energy

I believe in electrolysis of H2O one anode releases H2 the other releases O2 and the salt increases conductivity.

Tower climbers working (scary). How about a risk assessment for this!!

Hope you like heights? It is incredible what people do for a living!

Whatever this person is paid it is not enough (1768 feet straight up) - I broke out in a sweat watching this!

Just wait for the short cartoon intro to finish, then hold on to your seat. The risk assessment would be interesting.

Have been in the industry for 20+ years. The person commentating does not know what they are talking about. OSHA does not and has not allowed free climbing in a VERY long time. The guy in this video violated numerous OSHA requirements and is an accident waiting to happen. It is as dangerous as you make it. Use your safety equipment and you will be fine, take a shortcut and you might go splat.
