Hi,

I joined the other day and posted a bit but I didn’t see this very obvious thread somehow. Let’s see my name is John, 22 years old, I live in Louisiana and I’m just now getting into precision shooting/big game hunting. Anyway, greetings to all and I’m sure I’ll have very many posts to come.

p.s. is this a good place to buy used rifles? I’m thinking about leasing some land to hunt year round for hogs for example and I’ll be in the market for a good hog gun perhaps on an AR platform that has ambidextrous controls since I’m a lefty when shooting; more specifically I have my eye on the new cmmg anvil in 458 socom.

Best regards, John

Just a suggestion on an AR for hog hunting but you might want to take a look at the 68SPC or 6.5 Grendel as an alternative.
I haven't shot the Grendel much and have never owned one but have lots of experience with 68spc and they will put hogs down quickly and factory ammo, components are much more available.

Thank you I’ll be sure to check those out; all I have to go off of is research since I’ve fired very few calibers myself, so personal experience is definitely always welcome

Not trying to sway your opinion from the 458socom as I'm sure they are a real thumper for hogs but it would be really aggravating to not be able to find ammo and components if you reload.

Got any hookers tied up in the sleeper? Or are you pulling a reefer?
Flatbed, actually hahaha and if I did I don’t think I’d tell ya, the sleeper in this international isn’t very big
