I have satellite internet through Viasat. It is ok, but it seems we hit out 60gig cap pretty fast then are throttled back. The latency sucks too. I was wondering if there was a better option. I have a friend that has some kind of service that is supposedly unlimited and runs off cell phone towers. He says it’s great, but cell service on Verizon isn’t the greatest here. I guess he runs off att signal, but I don’t know what that signal is like here. Any suggestions on a service provider that people are happy with? Need enough speed to hd Netflix and online gaming. Thanks in advance!

If you aren't happy with Viasat you will totally hate Hughesnet.
There could possibly be a wi-fi provider that services your area. How rural are you. The one out here only goes a few miles out of town. My neighbor's parents have it but it won't reach to his and my locations.
There is a service called Fire WiFi that uses cell towers (supported by both ATT and Verizon) that is supposedly unlimited but is over $100 a month. Neighbor and I were going to try it out but have both decided to wait for Musk's satelite service.

The 100 a month doesn’t bother me. I’m paying that now. Anything satellite is gonna have latency which makes online gaming and zoom shitty. It takes time for signal to travel back and forth to and from satellites, so I don’t think there is any way around that.
Musk's satellites are in a much lower orbit than traditional comm-sats. The latency is supposed to be pretty minor.
That being said, if high speed gaming is your big concern you are basically screwed being rural.
As for the neighbor and I we are both currently using Verizon cell service for internet.
My son likes to game online. Not a issue for me. The issue is the throttling. Need truly unlimited.
From what I understand the Fire WiFi is really unlimited. Though I don't see how, since it is using cell service that limits their own customers.
