Plastic Gas Cans

I burned a hella brush and log fire a few years back. Took as much fuel in cans as I could in my Whooptie and got it going pretty good.
Snow on the ground so safe. Neighbor brought over 10 gal. of gas, oil, diesel, hydraulic fluid, whatever would burn and helped me. I gave him ammo for the event.
Stood out there with my Marlin 39A and jacket pockets bulging with ammo. We shot everything that ran from there if it was bad.
Skunks, possums, coons, cats, rats, mice, if it ran, we shot it.
It wasn't long and it was an inferno so we took shovels and threw all of the dead in there. Skunks don't smell too bad if the fire is hot enough.

2 days later after scooping ashes and bits in,- it was nothing but ash.
That spot grows the best wheat than anywhere else in that field.

And now it is hard to find good cans to do it. These new cans are fucked up, but the Govt. is saving me from myself.
FUKM

I’m from the government, I’m here to help.

I'm running 4 of these type jerry-cans, and compared with the typical Scepter and Wedco brand stuff I've used all my life, these things are by far the goodest!

Price is insane, but I've gratefully received them all as gifts, so...
Your link is for SCEPTER MFCs (military fuel containers). And located in Canada as well.

Those are hands down the best cans for long term storage of fuel. I own quite a few that I got for free or CHEAP (the advantage of living next to a Marine Base for 30+ years). They are made to withstand being thrown out of helos and trucks during fast unloads. Throw one in a fire and it will melt and let gas burn but will NOT explode. The Secpter cans sold in places like Costco are NOT the same thing.

That price isn't too bad as on the secondary market here in the USA they easily sell for $100 plus.

Unfortunately our idiot friends at the EPA have outlawed them for sale in the USA. It is near impossible to even get repair parts for them. The last caps I bought came from Canada and even that has dried up. If you are close to the border you drive into Canada (where they are made) to buy them from auto supply places.

If you want steel jerry cans look for Valpro or Wavian brands which are actual mil-spec cans made in Europe. You can tell them by the "V" or "W" embossed on their sides.

i had a buddy get it real bad when he was young...
gallon gas on a brush pile at about 55 degrees and slightly raining, the fumes hung low because of the air pressure and flashed when he ignited it, it fucked him up.
as it will fuck up any of you dick weeds that even consider using gas for anything but powering your car
He couldn't tell which way was UP wind from the pile? Dumbass!

Due to OSHA regulations I have gone to all the metal fill rite auto shut off cans. They work just fine.

There are a few of the race cans around the place.

One thing for sure you can't fix stupid.
Those work ok for transport or short term storage of fuel but they have a pressure relief valve that will let fumes escape.

The race jugs you and others mentioned are good for the same.

Neither is good for long term storage. The Fill Rite due to the relief valve and the race jugs are made of a plastic that WILL allow the volatiles to leach through (hence why the white ones turn yellow) thus allowing the fuel to go bad.

Would work pretty good for filling a lawnmower or generator but good luck hefting that up high enough to fill my F350.
Meh, Aint no big deal and you don't need a funnel.. if you have a funnel then you can take the big 2 1/2 inch fill cap off and pour like a old fashioned Jerry can.
They work and work excellent that is all I can say about them.

I hate to post this because I need some more and don't want to limit the supply... These are the best cans I've seen since the 80's. Get the flexible spout. Wavian cans are solid, don't leak and with the flexible spout, pour like there's no EPA. Only wish they were made in the US.

Warning, not for the poors.

id say you should use gasoline to light all your fires, dumbass...
point blank for some of you real dumb mother fuckers... stay away from gasoline to light fires
No inbred idiots that say hold my beer and watch this before lighting the fire should stay away from gas. To that add the ones that think the fire isn't big enough and so pour more gas on it to the list.

$118 for the 20ltr and $75 for the 10ltr here

might have to throw some hints at my girls by constantly looking at the cans when they walk past :ROFLMAO:

can be yours for under $50 usd plus shipping :ROFLMAO:

Oh great, now we'll need four hands instead of three to pour gas from a container to fill the lawn mower, chainsaw, wood splitter, etc.

Fuck C.A.R.B., and their gas cans that take three hands to operate. I saw the writing on the wall and bought a bunch before it was mandated, and I don't understand how California can tell the other 49 States what they can and can't have. Now we got this Bull Shit.

I'm going to buy one of those 300-gal tanks that sit on a pedestal, and have fuel delivered, the good stuff... non-ethanol premium or as I refer to as Corn-free Gas.

CA didn't tell the other 49 anything. The idiots at the EPA thought it was a good idea and quietly forced it on the rest of us.

so the signs need to be ignored your saying? :)

Short of the open flame, yes.

I once explained to a cop why my truck wouldn't explode when I was putting gas in while it was running.
By the time I got done with the electrical theory behind it and the bullshit that our elected idiots think need to be laws I believe he was happy to just get the fuck away from me.

You can fill the cans in your truck bed also. Trick is so long as the nozzle is touching the can, the can is grounded and can't build static. Hovering the nozzle in the middle without touching the can is where you get the random static jumping to the nozzle causing issues. Generally fiery death issues.

Lol, yeah. An open flame or spark will ignite it but a lit cigarette or coals wont.

I've poured gas on coals and it only put them out. Also tried lighting gas with a cigarette, no go. All thos movies where they flick a cigarette into a trail of gas and blow some shit up... BS.
Gasoline liquid is not flammable. It's the fumes.

i've always known that the fumes is why things go bang. i've thrown plenty a cigarette on fuel just to scare family. it's fun to watch them run, but one day it might just bite me in the bum playing silly games :ROFLMAO:

signs are fucking stupid cause most sheeple know little if nothing about flammables. even at work they won't allow phones within 15m of an aircraft while it is being refueled. i as a supervisor am authorised to use it at the aircraft but still walk away to set an example for the young ones that aren't that i keep telling to put their phones in their pockets or it will stay in the room next time. for some reason they call me the phone nazi, can't work it out  :ROFLMAO:

a lot of things in life and society have been missing for a very long time. they say common sense doesn't grow on trees. last time i checked a cricket bat was made from a tree. in most cases it works well to instill some common sense where needed. but i don't condone violence when people are looking.
