More People ARE buying guns despite a lack of ammo

I feel like an idiot. Just plinkin' 145-150 gr wa 0.80/rd 2 weeks ago; now it's like 1.40. Starting to wonder if this can be 401K funds...I mean, it's a great investment at the present...had you bought in March. In March $10K ammo would be about $50K if one had bought say 270 win, 6mm ARC, 6.5 CM, ..... 380ACP!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. There isn't a lot of ammo in stock and I've seen people pay double and triple what prices were back in the spring without even giving it a second thought. I seen what people were asking for shit at the gun show last weekend and was told there wasn't much left for them to pack up.

It's not really difficult. It's like speculating on any type of market. You are wagering on a particular commodity being available at some point in the future, and/or reacting to particular events. Do any of us really believe that ammo is going to be forever unavailable? (I don't)
Have you looked at Ammoseek? Reminds me of a song a clothing store used to use in their ads. @greg will remember Robert Hall. Unless Trumpester pulls a fucking miracle out of his ass it wont be long before only the military and cops can buy ammo. You and me...Bwahahahahaha

Values aint going up and prices aint coming down.

I need some .308 and went looking at Dumbroker. $1.70 a round and up for 500 round cases. There was one 500 round case at about $1.40 a round. Somebody was trying to tell me that was "cheap". I was like- huh? I paid $.80 a round for some XM80 3 months ago.
What you could buy ammo for 3 months ago has ZERO bearing on what it costs NOW.

What we are seeing is a demonstration by the people as a whole of their faith in the Second Amendment. Even the Left has its converts to it. They are demonstrating that even though they understand that the ammo is not available now, the have sincere trust that it will eventually fall into their hands,

Makes one wonder whether it might pay to share some with some of them? Are we actually armed if we don't have ammo? Are they? Are we better off if there are more folks who are? Do we, or don't we have enough to share, and a common goal to the sharing?

I think it's worth a few moments' thought...

Would it make the Left nuts if it turned out they were oppressing their own? How would it affect the thinking of those lefts, who are on the receiving end?
Already talked to a leftist friend of mine. Good kid, just misled by his big city schooling. But he’s fully on board with resisting any and all gun control measures in every way we can. And he ain’t nearly the only one. We’re gonna be making some unlikely allies here soon IMO, and we’re gonna need em...

Thinking about letting go some of my ammo, if 223 is really going for $1 a shot I’m gonna sell it off for a PVS14 WP
Its not, people may list it for that but going price is 80cpr. Sometimes a "good" bulk deal is 70cpr. You can probably find some dingbats to pay that price at a gunshow or on gunbroker.

However I did hear an interesting phrase that has come true many times over "today's gouge is tomorrow's steal."

Right. Sure you are. As if they're just going to turn their heads the other way, after all the "support" they got, when protesting their "causes" over the summer. (and ongoing in Portland) I'm sure that when you deem a thing unconstitutional, they'll forgive you for opposing them - and even wishing harm upon them - for when YOU pointed out things that they felt were unconstitutional. I'm sure that they'll be quick to remind you that when they do it, it's "rioting", but when you do it, you are "patriots", and "protesting tyranny".

I think you may be a tad bit naive, brother. That's just not how people work. The whole lot of you are always wrapped around some axle, grinding your axe on the road with every revolution...

Some leftists will absolutely oppose restrictions on 2A. But they won't do it with you in mind, or at their sides.

Dumbest shit I've read in a long time.

Same for me with this ^^^. Anytime somebody drops a one liner, and runs away, it's the peak of both stupidity and cowardice. Means that you had absolutely nothing to say, but did it, anyway. 🤪

I’ve got plenty to say. I just used the least amount of words to say it.

Feel free to actually talk points. Here's mine:

1) far leftists don't need or want your support. They're doing their own thing (also they hate you)
2) the "unlikely" allies, would be the liberal suburban/city female, who will NEVER support 2A (cause they only see dead kids).

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Nobody else is "unlikely", because they've always been the "creamy center" who never had a dog in the fight before. They'll most certainly go whichever way the popular opinion blows.

Nobody else is "unlikely".

I’m waiting for you to detail all the unconstitutional issues the leftists were rioting against. Only then Can I provide a response on why they weren’t supported by conservatives as they caused billions of dollars in damage to private property, assaulted people, and disrupted commerce. Oh, and they stormed the White House too.

The problem with your statement, is that you assume that I agree with them. I had the distinct misfortune of dwelling in a leftist enclave. Because I know how they think and act, does not imply that my sympathies lie with them. That's really the key - and why I pointed out the "naiveté" in assuming that any common issues would make strange bedfellows of the 2 thought streams.

If you want to have an ACTUAL discussion about a leftist's interpretation of the Constitution, you would need to talk to an ACTUAL leftist.

Is that clear enough?

I see your reading comprehension is lacking. Nowhere did I say you're a leftist, liberal, BLM, or ANTIFA type. Nor did I post anything to lead to the assumption that I assumed you were.

Stop deflecting. List the horrible injustices the last months of rioting, looting, assaulting, and disruption of commerce were supposed to be addressing.

I am reflecting your criticism back upon you. I used words like "assume" and "implies", as a tacit acknowledgment that you did not directly accuse me. But you are also asking me to answer for things that I'm not part of. And that's where you fall short in the critical thinking department. You have a side, and you're defending it vociferously. I get it. But, I'm taking the position of one who is giving an intel report. It's not about me right now, dude. Just because I can assess a situation at face value, doesn't mean that I have to rationalize the behaviors of others for you. I'm not here to change your mind. I'm just here to give you some insight into why you aren't going to be all "buddy buddy" with gun loving leftists.

Is it really that difficult to understand?

You brought it up. Proper etiquette would be for you to state the constitutional issues you said the left was rioting against.

I see you have nothing to really add, and are now deflecting.

There is a difference between new "allies" and being "buddy buddy". Once again, your lack of reading comprehension has hamstrung you.

Jesus, Lord. Somebody help this fella out. Every last brain cell went into thinking up his avatar.

Clearly you don't understand that every people group on earth, associates their own perception, with reality. For this reason, I can't help you. But I won't be Hannity'ed into giving you the answer that you want. Floor is yours, boss. Knock yourself out.

This last statement is correct and the first statement is becoming less so every day. If you look at ammoseek right now for 5.56 you will see that there are more prices at $1 per round than there are below $1. The number of entries below $1 is steadily decreasing. That tells you what the trend is in the market and it is not for lower prices. Buy now or pay more for the same later.

Yup. It won't possibly get better until 2022.

oh please. what leftist tries to interpret anything?
all they do is see what they want that others have built or earned and demand a piece of it for whatever bullshit reason they can think of.

as far as ammo, thank god m80 shoots so dang accurate that i don't need match ammo.

Whatever man. I am not going to engage this comment, for the same reason that I didn't engage the other fella. Namely, because this wasn't supposed to be a debate about left vs right politics. It was about how leftists aren't going to join up with righties, because they will feel hard done.

If you want to know what Constitutional grievances the leftists think that they have, you can start in the usual places. Namely, the ACLU, and then Google.

I am NOT a fucking leftist apologist, and I was never amenable to listening to any internet experts telling me how they have all the answers, to every given issue, in real time. My position was stated as one who was giving a brief. Nothing more. I don't care why anyone thinks they're right, and everyone else is wrong. The rest of you can go "rabbit holing" all you like. Zero fucks given.

i am not accusing you of being "a leftist apologist", but you appear to be trying to rationalize their behavior.
they are narcissistic assholes that are too lazy or stupid to earn the adoration and attention they crave, so they compete for social justice medals.
some have guns and will protect them. it doesn't take a genius or you to point that out.

New gun people dont think twice about prices ether, they dont know any better and just want a firearm for "defense" not to spend time putting rounds downrange, I mean a box of 50 bullets!! Thats like 50 bad guys, Rambo doesnt even do that! lol

And grandpa said one box of ammo would last him 8 hunting seasons, until it got "too old" to shoot...

Ha. I mean, that's usually what I hear from people who are upset that I don't validate their point of view. Show me a person at the moment, who isn't of the mind that "You're either with me, or you're against me". If that's how anyone, of any flavor wants to play it, then fine. I'm against you. That's out of the way. Others can be sheep. I'll be a badger.

There is no "rationalizing" any politically motivated behavior right now, from any side.

that's just a cheap cop out.
patriots are motivated to protect what is good, and the rest are pieces of shit.
it isn't political, it is the difference between good and evil, not "liberal" and "conservative".

And there you have it.

This is why we aren't able to have conversations. I'm pretty sure that in your view of the world, YOU own all of the definitions that you've just laid out. Full circle, it's why I'm not here to go off on tangents about philosophies and ideologies. You are already right, and everyone else is already wrong.

Good luck with the struggle, patriot.

For the last time - I'm not doing interwebs debates with randos about tangential topics. Even if I were to go there, no minds will be changed. It's pointless to play games with no prizes.

You just keep on doing you, buddy. At some point, when it all comes to a climax, might will make right - just like it always does.
