Need a sling for my freshly finished 18” WOA rifle. Do any of you run a bolt gun/prs style sling? Or just stick with what I run on my carbines (Ferro Concepts)??

It's going to depend on what you're doing.

Generally, a DMR gun will be used by someone that is part of a larger element that will need to move with them and/or relocate to a superior shooting location to then displace to another, or rejoin the element. That's a lot of moving around with at times, a slung rifle due to obstacles, terrain or the fact that you need to climb up something or run somewhere.

I hate bungee type slings for this purpose for exactly this reason; they sound great on paper, until you have to stow your rifle and move with it as it'll bounce around and move, and no matter how tight you get it, the bungee negates it. The problems outweigh the benefit of being able to use the bungee as counter tension for a shooting position.

Most shooting slings are designed around the actual shooting aspect (maybe 20% of your time) as opposed to all the shit going on the other 80%.

You can do everything with a correctly set up VTAC or BFG 2 point sling.

Great points

The BFG actually makes for a decent and versatile shooting sling as well. Front portion is basically an easily adjustable loop. I've tied it to a belt with a carabiner as well off barricades.

Yep.

With a QD on at least the rear attachment, you can take it off and candy cane it on a tripod or even make a tourniquet type bicep attachment like you would with all of the 'sniper' slings. Honestly, as a DM, thats more than enough in regards to what you'd need to do. Even if you were in a longer range overwatch position; why settle for a halfassed position?

I was never in a position where a tripod, natural obstacles/buildings or a bipod wouldn't be enough. Chances are if you can't use anything and need to go with a sling only, you can move over/back/forward 4 feet and then you magically can.
