Yeah everything i just read on them says they are illegal.
I'm shooting a 22.5" 300 PRC barrel suppressed using the 212ELDX bullets. Accurate and easy to load for, have been using RL26 and have several loads worked up that I use depending on the temp. My only issue has been a sticky bolt using brass that isn't virgin. Once I dug into why i found out it's a fairly common issue for both the 6.5 and 300 PRC's reloads. Velocity ranges from about 2820 to 2900 depending on the load. Just returned from an out west hunt and the rifle performed as expected, one shot kills. The 300 PRC is a little faster then my 300WM barrel but other then that I can achieve the same result's with either barrel in hunting situations. I like the 300 PRC barrel and glad I had one spun up.

Has anyone ever ordered one of their in stock barrels? I’m waiting for a 6CM to pop up as being in stock. Just wondering if it was actually in stock and how long did it take for you to receive it? Not sure if the website is updated often or not.

I have ordered one, shipped a little slow but overall I’m happy. The barrel absolutely hammers. 6mm Creedmoor 18”

I spoke with Erik (ES Tactical), and the barrels he has in stock are barrels from people that he has let cancel their order for one reason or another or barrels that he possibly makes a mistake on such as incorrect fluting. That being said, my understanding is that the barrels he has "in stock" or "ready to ship" are not purposely built to be an "in stock" item. I talked with him last week, and he has a huge list of orders that he has to fulfill, but he told me the lead time would likely be 6-10 weeks on a new custom order, which is less than almost any other maker that I have personally reached out to. I spoke with SAC, and they were 14 weeks out on a blank.

I talked to Dane (DMR) this week and he doesn’t have barrels but if you have one and send to him he can still spin one up in a couple weeks.

If you need a blank 3rd Gen has a few different caliber Benchmark DT blanks in stock I grabbed a 7mm 1/9 for $295. I have a couple thousand 180 vld that will run in the 1/9 but still looking for something faster for the 190’s.

I have been watching this forum for a couple of years after seeing the Desert Tech SRS A1 at the shot show with a Navy buddy. I wanted one but it was out of my price range. Then this summer I was able to pick up a little used A1 chassis here on the hide for $1800. I picked up bolt and mags from EuroOptic and the 6.5 CM barrel I ordered in August from ES tactical shipped yesterday. Luckily I picked up a couple hundred rounds of Hornady ammo this summer. I also picked up a Bushnell XRSII on sale at Midway.

Do you recommend breaking in the ES Tactical barrel? If so what is your process?

Do you have any tips shooting the SRS A1 platform?
Thanks.

Get some snap caps or make dummy rounds. Get down behind it in various positions and practice running the bolt. Watch Primal Rights videos on running the gun. Fits differently than other rifles and need to create some muscle memory. When you’ve got that down it’s the sweetest thing going. And like above most of all have fun with it!

Thanks the videos were informative. Looking forward to getting behind the rifle. Waiting on the barrel that is in transit. Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas been wanting this rifle for a long time. It is my Navy retirement gift to myself.

I think maybe @softcock makes them? I know he does bolt/barrel pouches.
for the thin body, single stack DT. Mags .... Yes .
DT Mags. got to be some of the slimmest body out there. Mag. pouches still stay nice and trim with it being double/x2 Mag. pouch.

I list them in the Barrel Bag/bolt pouch for sale thread .

I use the Tactical Tailor Fight Light Double 7.62 mag pouch that will fit two 10 round magazines, also the Triad Tactical .338LM mag pouches will work as well, open top/bungee retention for 10 rounders and 6 rounders, and closed top for 6 rounders only.

Hey guys, anyone ever have issues with the SAC 223 conversion kit? I am a huge SAC fan and have a ton of their barrels. Just got the 223 kit and tried it with some snap caps. Won’t feed correctly. The rounds bind up below the chamber. Maybe one out of ten feeds if you move the bolt in some very particular way. Anyone had this issue? Does it happen wirh live rounds?

sorry if this is easily googled. I’m switching away from Google and Chrome and still green.

Is the kit new?

I had one of the very first ones and had to exchange the mag for a newer one.

I have had one and close to 1200 rounds with no problem. Accuracy is great and when this barrel is done I will get another one from Mark.

Shot my .223 conversion probably 1000 rounds with no issues. Mark will get you set....incredibly customer service oriented.

Just picked up my 223 conversion. Looking for some good loads to get started with.

May get this thing on paper this weekend. Will then see if it feeds with live rounds. I am a huge SAC fan.

The mag will let you load long.

24.6 gr Varget under a 77 gr TMK at 2.480 oal got me an easy 2900 with a 5.5 SD, 75 ELD was almost exactly the same so that’s pretty much my recipe for the entire 77 class of bullets.

Not super fast but consistent and Lapua brass should last a very long time. It shot so well I honesty didn’t care to do anymore load dev and ran that. It’s fun to shoot a heavy 223 past 500.

Even my AR load shot like a dream. 23.2 XBR under a 75 bthp loaded to mag length in LC02 brass.

Start low and work to it.

That must be 95% of all bolt guns then right ? I'm sure PRS shooters don't use there mag as a barricade stop . That's just stupid

Could be that Mr. Kalashnikov was way ahead of current bolt rifle makers in magazine design when he designed the good old AK in 1940s

Is the A2 trigger fairly easy to adjust? I have the A2 chassis but just haven’t messed with the pull weight. How much disassembly is required? My trigger is nice and crisp. However, I wouldn’t mind dropping the weight a little.

@Mcordell its in the owners manual but if you don't have that, you basically take the panels off, take the trigger assembly out, then there is a hex screw on the front of the trigger assembly you use to adjust the pull weight

Do you know what your coal is with the 75gr eldm touching the lands? What kind of jump have you had success with? I am supposed to have the long range chamber in mine but the 75gr eldm seems to be seated pretty deep in the case at the lands.
