Anyone else notice increased amount of YouTube and Instagram ads?

Anyone else the notice the Ad increase within the last week or so? Specifically Instagram and YouTube, those are the only social media apps I use for viewing.

Let’s face it... they’re whores for money just as much as the next company.

Even if there’s only 10 or 20 pct of their existing user base out there who have stopped using these apps out of protest, that has just shrunk they’re marketable ad audience by 10 - 20 pct. they need to make that Money back just like any other large Corp.

Maybe I’m crazy, just an observation

I run YouTube on a desktop and use adblockers so I almost never see an ad on YouTube.

I am not sure about site page ads but ads within the videos themselves have increased by a shitload. Usually you can click 'SKIP AD' after it plays for 5 seconds, but now there are ads that go on for 12 seconds and you cannot skip them. I can't even watch KentuckyBallistics blow giant holes in weight discs with .50 BMG armor piercing incendiary rounds without ads for stupid shit popping up every 5 minutes... On the other hand, KentuckyBallistics is a fucking AWESOME channel and I hope he is benefitting monetarily from these ads being run on his videos.

Jokes on them, I’ve grown so accustomed to ADs growing up that my mind automatically tunes them out. Lie billboards on the interstate, I pay them no attention whatsoever.

It actually has the opposite of intended effect for me. If I do notice ads and they are constantly in my face, I’m actually more inclined to purposely not buy their shit.

12 seconds? There were "ads" that were 30-45 MINUTES. Skippable, yes, but if you're not paying attention, it could just keep going and going. I only see ads when I use youtube on my phone (no adblocker) and I always flag them as "irrelevant" and dismiss them if possible.

Youtube offers ad free for a monthly fee, Fuck that.
Majority of ads never make me want to buy the products.
Most are just little propaganda SJW hit pieces with a product thrown in.

Well, only if you don't count still births, heart attacks, strokes, blood clots and eye droops I guess, Blatantly false propaganda trying to change the growing awareness of the dangers. It's not just ads any more, it's straight Government propaganda.

I noticed quite a while ago that they (YouTube) had foiled the ad blocker I have installed. I just take notes and make sure not to buy anything from any companies whose ads defeat the ad blocker…

I run AdBlock Plus along with a script blocker and pretty much never see an add on YouTube on my PC

On mobile the ads are terrible so I have a 3rd party browser with an ad blocker for that

Running YouTube Vanced on Android to stop ads. Still see them as suggested videos but not while watching a video.

Same, highly recommend it if you watch youtube on your phone , it also block the sections of videos where they jabber on about their sponsors
