I have one. Haven't had the chance to do some real shooting with it yet, but will say I like the 60degree bolt throw. They are heavy that's for sure. As Cav said the bolt lift is a bit heavier then others but I it should become somewhat lighter with use.
Picked my rifle up today. Looks awesome. Will get pics up later and hopefully a range report. Ok got some pics and started on some load data today. So far looking like its gonna be awesome. Thanks again guys!
Sounds like what I did today. Went to a local shop just to see if they had anything at all. Bought the last 2 boxes of Hornady 162gr 7mm Amax and the last 2 pounds of H380 they had.
Im wondering if any one could supply me with the dimensions for a neck sizing bushing for a RCBS Gold Medal Full length bushing sizing die in 7mm08. So I would need OD and length. I bought the die with out knowing it did not include a bushing. Just need to make one dummy round for my gunsmith...
I'm in the same boat. Dropped of the parts end of Jan. Was told 4-5 months. They started my build yesterday. Just need to drop off a dummy round for them to check the throat depth.
I recently picked up a Encore pistol frame. I am wanting to order a barrel specifically for subsonics, and wanted to do one in .308 because dont want to need new reloading stuff. Would a 8" 1-8 twist for heavier bullets be unreasonable? Or would I just be better off going the 300BLK route?
Re: Best overall SA 308 bolt face competition caliber? I dont shoot matches that often, but im currently building a 7-08. I picked it due to the barrel life, the fact that I also have a butt ton of 308 brass, and from the research I did for load data. I have seen many postings of 2700ish with...
Re: .308 to 7mm-08 annealing Good info. I will be resizing m118lr brass down to the 7mm08 so the neck will probably be fairly thick. I however dont have the rifle built yet so I still have time to square away my reloading needs before i have anything to shoot.
I did a search but did not find anything pertaining to my question. I will be resizing. 308win brass to 7mm-08. Would annealing be advised? I pretty sure it wouldn't hurt anything to anneal but if I'm going to anneal I need the equipment. Thanks, beans.
Re: Badger M2008 Builds.....Where are they?? Pics... Here is my M2008 build I am working on. Badger short action will be in 7mm-08, Obermeyer AMU profile blank 1:8.25 twist, Mcmillan A5. Hope to have it finished in the next few months.
Re: 7mm-08 COAL options Ok thanks! I asked the smith his opinion and he said he didn't have experience with handloading for 7mm-08. So I came here to get some opinions. ETA - the mags will still be used on my .308 so not looking to modify them.
Ok, so I am having a new rifle built in 7mm-08. It will be in a Badger M2008 action. Im trying to decide on the load length I will use and have the chamber cut for. Wanting to stay in mag length with a 162gr amax for .308 AICS mags, which I measured out to 2.900" total internal length for a 5...
