Re: FNH 300 wsm and Winchester Long action bolts? The Model 70's traditionally have(had) two piece bottom metal, which required three screws. One action screw at the rear of the triggerguard and one at the front. Yet another holding on the hinged floorplate just behind the recoil lug...

Re: Subsonic round idea. Comments? The SOCOM case head is .473, the same as your 308 bolt. I've sold several barrels in .458" and .510" for hunting here in Indiana. Last I knew, you can get AICS magazines for the 300 WSM - which shares a "close enough" cartridge base diameter as the SOCOM...
