XLR is the way to go. I've been running an Element since April and loving it.

I'll echo others so far but 2900 range is pretty hot for a 260 running H4350. What length barrel are you running in your setup? Likely be wise to drop down a node or two until you have no preasure signs at all. Not worth burning the barrel up or shortening brass life span for a few extra fps.

If you beat the crap out of it, hard to beat the vortex warranty benefits. Had a buddy drop his match rifle on the garage floor and jack up his windage turret. Vortex actually overnighted him a loaner Razor HD 5-20x so he could send his in for repair so he could shoot a match two days later...

What are your velocities? Are you getting any massive fps spreads? This could give you a lot more great information to look at to try and decipher your issue... The last two load workups I did I didn't even bother attempting to shoot a group until I found a good fps node to work off of...

I started with a Mcrees which is a great chassis and recenty switched over to an XLR element and love it. WAY lower cost compared to an AI or manners, does not need bedding and you can get a folder if needed. just my 1.5 cents but I will easily be buying another for my next build.

Extremely pleased with mine. Built a 260 that is fantastic. I had my deviant melonited at H&M as did 4 other guys I shoot with who are now running defiance actions (all deviants) None of us have had any issues with them at all. I will be an ongoing customer of Defiance for future rifles...

Vortex EBR-2C I've got that reticle in my razor HD 5-20x. I will be going with the same 2C option on my new RazorII model that should be here next week sometime. I do like having the marking which has made hold overs a touch quicker for my eyes when holding for elevation and windage...
