    To ring the velocity outta that cartridge I would not suggest a 20" barrel. My heavy barrel 06 is a 26". If your set on a 20" a 308 will do all you need with that length.

    If you plan to shoot 1100yds an 03A3 won't work given it's rear sight doesn't adjust that far.     Bullet Choice AR15 .223/5.556 ?

    Go get some 77SMK and stick them on top of 24gr of varget or RL15 and load to 2.250 OAL. It'll shoot better than you can hold out to 600yds. .

    24.5gr Is my go to high power load. I get 2750fps from a 20in barrel.

    If you want one sooner than later I'd go with Delton. Model 1 last I checked was still 8 months out on orders. Check JSEsurplus.com. I own a delton and have no issues with it.

    I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them over the last year and only once did I not receive a parts kit with a lower and parts kit deal. I called, got a hold of someone in a few minutes and had the parts kit at my door in 3 days. Whatever your issue is they will do there best to make it right...

    The info I listed for mine is for 5.56 but your load with the BC of SMK's should be damn close with in a couple inches. According to my Ballistic calc with the info you gave you want to be exactly 1.5" low at 25.

    I find that with standard height sights (2.5" above bore) on my AR's that if my bullet impacts 1.25" low at 25yds I'm dead on at 100.

    Time to get a gunsafe

    +1 for the Liberty Fatboy Got mine from Gander MTN on sale for $1899. I can't say anything for or against the durability of the electronic lock on it as my other safe has a S&G tumbler on it but it's certainly faster to get into. I really like the door organizer that came with it though.

    My service rifle load for my NM RRA with a Wylde chamber is 24.5gr Varget 77smk, Nosler, or Hornady 75gr HPBT with LC brass and Rem BR primers loaded to 2.250. I get 2750 over the chrono out of a 20in barrel with superb accuracy in all my 1/7 or 1/8 twist rifles. My Predator Pursuit shoots bug...
