Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
I may be wrong, but I don't think a chambered barrel is hand lapped. I thought all lapping is done both prior to and after rifling. Like I say, I might be wrong like usual.
Don't know how many assemblers are making any, but the main ones I see are Stag. I say assemblers because of his requirements. Or he could do it himself.
I'd do as most have suggested. But I'd at least check, that when you put the action into the stock and the rear of the recoil lug is against the stock's lug abutment, your action screws aren't riding against the pillars.
I'd get a hold of Geissele and request a set of pins. I believe they are slightly oversized to fit snugly into your lower unless your lower is slightly worn or slightly overspec.

I currently have 5 Harris and 3 Atlas. On my AICSs, I'm running both. Don't really know if I want to spend the money to get another Atlas and spigot when the Harris is working well for me. I agree with Where's-Waldo, that the Harris is quicker to deploy, adjust (notched) and stow.
Great people and fast turn around. Every stock I've sent to Jeff for inletting for his dbm was returned in a week from when he received it and I live on the west coast. Love his ringtone.
This is what I found a few yrs ago: Gale McMillan on Remington vs Winchester The only reason that the mod.70 ever got anywhere in competition was the smoothness of the action. Since it gets half the closing cam from the bolt lug and half from the receiver and because it has a weak firing...
It can and is done quite a bit. Brownell's and Midway sell prethreaded short chambered Shilen barrels. AAC also sells a barrel that is adjusted only by varying the recoil lug thickness. I've got a .308 with one of the prethreaded short chambered Shilen barrels that I installed myself. I...
