Night Vision Thermal vs Night Vision Clip-On only. Pic request as well if you have them.

Better in that in general, you can use more day optic magnification with an NV clip on vs thermal BUT you're detection is half at best depending on the conditions. The whole ID vs detection argument when hunting is simple. Animals can't shoot back so if you don't know what it is then wait and...

Rifle Scopes first spr 10-600 yard scope help

The only thing I would add to this is you should consider moving. We would be happy to have you down here shooting critters with your MK12. I've got both and it's a toss up based on what you want to do with it. Like the redmann said, speed=32 - precision=42 If it helps I've got the 24 with...

.308 build. What Muzzle Brake, Gas Block and Handguard?

I'm a big fan of the surefire socoms because they work very well and allow supression. Recently a friend picked up the Lantac Dragon 7.62 and this unit is equally good recoil & muzzle rise mitigation. If supression isn't needed then this would be a good option. We were doing quad taps on 2/3...

    Lets talk layers

I dress for mid day temps layer/shell wise and start and finish with a quite gore type overlayer tops and bottoms along with a heavier hat for monring and afternoon. The one I use is the cabelas MT050 pro jacket and bibs. It is very quiet and you can take it on and off during the day without...

    Compensator

Im a a big fan of the surefire's but recently tried a Lantac Dragon in 556 & 762 and was equally impressed. If you won't get a surefire suppressor then the Lantac is a slightly less expensive option with all the muzzle breaking of the surefire.

    Surefire 7.62 SFMB brake/adapter question

Just clean the barrel threads and brake threads with brake cleaner. Screw it on hand tight and determine how many turns will get you to 1/8th turn to timed. Take it off and start with the black washer and see where you end up. From there use the washer thickness table to deduce what combo to...

Rifle Scopes Flash from the past; how good/bad is a Leupold MK4 3.5-10

You should know that the TMR/MILDOT line thickness in nominally bigger that that of the MIL-R/MOAR of the NF. Also that the TMR has the open center. I would agree with the FFP at 10x not a requirment on a battle rifle. 50-300m zero means little to no adjustment in that range so lower mag is a...

Rifle Scopes Need help finding scope

Setting a budget without defining the parameters of use and you're most likely going to spend all the money and end up with a big heavy high mag unit. If that's what you want that's ok but I would approach this from a purpose to features to decision.......

Rifle Scopes Need help finding scope

Seriously, what type of magnificaton range would make sense for the game and terrain you intend to use it in? Do you want big and heavy or lighter and smaller?

Rifle Scopes Flash from the past; how good/bad is a Leupold MK4 3.5-10

They make 3.5-10 now with M5 turrets and FFP #110074. Of course it costs more but I've seen them new for $1228. These units have clearly withstood the test of time and a nice matchup for 762 semi. I doubt 762 fire has destroyed many if any of these.

Rifle Scopes ard honey comb question

The ARD alone with prevent detection of your optic and act as a 4-5" sunshade. It's a tool for a paticular job. If your getting called out you may want to have both in your bag since you could be there a while and conditions may change.

Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10 FFP vs IOR 2.5-10

That's what I thought until I got it. If the x24 is what you want you'll have to be willing to settle for used.

Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10 FFP vs IOR 2.5-10

For some reason I haven't been able to edit a thread on here in months on either of my computers.... anyway If daytime target shooting is your thing then x24 or x32 will be fine. A lot of guys say the x24 is hard to get behind consistently at higher mag but I actually like that about it as...

Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10 FFP vs IOR 2.5-10

Yes there is a difference. If size is paramount then x24. If not then go straight to the x42. The x42 is a leap ahead of the x32 in FOV, image, parallax adjustment(awesome for very low light 2.5-4x shots into and around thick brush) and .1" shorter and 1.5oz(illuminated) heavier then the x32...
