final piece to the puzzle.. need to swap the ugly little dogleg bolt off my rem 600 mohawk for a PTG i have. of anyone local the only one decently priced is now unavailable. who could i send this thing to without spending a pile with decent turn around time? nothing more than swapping the...
Re: rem 600 base thanks Jerry. after looking and searching every possible angle, i believe i've figured out that the 3 holes of the 600 line up with 3 of the 4 of a 700 short action? this being the case i can get any 700 short action base, and just deal with there being only 3 screws...
my build using the 600 action is slowly comming along. onto the base issue.. seems aluminum is my only option perhaps? I would be ok with aluminum if the slots were full width, but after looking at an EGW base, not enough meat there for me. Got ahold of them and after a wait for their "HD"...
Re: triggers to fit 600 there are a number of aftermarket triggers specifically made for the 600, but with what im building i need the trigger further back, identical to a 700 trigger. i've heard of people using 700 triggers, but with it all unclear im trying to find out what specific models...
Re: triggers to fit 600 im assuming you perhaps have seen or done this? im curious what it is about certain triggers that would prevent them from working where others would. if the only real issue is the trigger bow, which is a non-issue with me as im going to place my own trigger guard in...
doing a build with my rem 600 action, and i need the trigger to be further back to fit the stock im making, as well as trigger guard. seems i remember people saying they've used aftermarket 700. i've emailed a few companies and rifle basix said theirs wouldn't fit my action. timney said...
Re: rem 700 trigger fit 600? what about a Jard trigger kit for the 700? any reason that wouldn't be used the same? im not comepletely sure i follow what you ment when saying to use the steel bed-bedding compound? im not familiar with the stuff and im not exactly how you mean to be using...
Re: rem 700 trigger fit 600? you seem to have yer 600 done and done well FreshKills. i too will be getting a 700 tactical bolt handle. as far as your last post, im pretty sure i understood what you are saying, but is there any chance you could post a few pictures of what you've done...
Re: rem 700 trigger fit 600? this trigger is one that went through the recall, but it was before i owned it. i removed the barreled action from the stock to look at the trigger, and looking at its placement with the trigger guard and realized the trigger is for sure further forward as you...
Re: rem 700 trigger fit 600? thats what i was leaning toward, a rifle basix. I'm assuming i'd have to buy a 700 safety to go along with it, but maybe you could tell me if the factory safety would fit? not sure i would want the looks of the factory safety tho.. just thinking out loud
Re: rem 700 trigger fit 600? sounds like i might be ok since im having the stock made without being inletted for the trigger guard, as im leaving the magazine well solid for single shot use only and will be using an ADL trigger guard
have a rem 600 im trying building off of, and have found very limited info, although some, reguarding the ability to put a 700 trigger on the 600. I ask since all I can find for aftermarked for the 600 is Timney, but lots to choose from for the 700. thanks for any help
So I've been trying to figure out the best place to ask this.. anyways here it is. im building another smokeless muzzleloader in 45 for my remington bolt action. my last 45 has 8 grooves, and just seems the common way to be. the couple barrels i've been looking at have options between 6...
